As GHANA HAS THE MOST QUALITY COCOA IN THE WORLD AND SECOND PRODUCER AS WELL,we should have seized the opportunity to process almost all before exportation.I don't know why we have been obtaining huge loans with huge interest rates,in selling just merely the RAW COCOA BEAN FROM TIME IMMEMORIAL.THAT IS NOT WISDOM.
If PROCESSING COCOA ALONE CAN HIRE MORE THAN HALF THE WHOLE UNEMPLOYED WORK FORCE,why do we have to sell the bean raw?Won't it be better adding value to the much needed commodity in the world before shipment? Why do they give us loans every year to purchase cocoa without processing the bean?THAT IS THE QUESTION GHANAIAN AUTHORITIES HAVE NOT STOPPED TO THINK ABOUT.If we lose in the sales of the beans,do you think they would be giving the loans to purchase and sell to them?If we gain in selling the bean, how would we lose in processing before selling? If the youth are trained to work in these cocoa processing companies to be set up,will it add to unemployment or lessen it?The government should ponder over what I am asking very well.WE SHOULD TRY TO START FROM AN ANGLE AND EXPAND LITTLE BY LITTLE,AND WE WOULD SUCCEED.We have to do it to the extent that we will even buy the cocoa from the other neighbouring nations to process it in GHANA,if we are serious about doing this.I do not know why GHANA should be poor in the midst of plenty.I BELIEVE COCOA PROCESSING CAN SOLVE MANY OF THE PROBLEMS WE ENCOUNTER OVER HERE IN GHANA WITH RESPECT TO EMPLOYMENT.THE OIL WOULD BE GONE ONE DAY.COCOA COULD BE THERE FOREVER.LET'S TURN GHANA INTO "THE HOT CHOCOLATE RENDEVOUS" OF THE WORLD.WE CAN DO IT IF WE PUT OUR HANDS TO IT.
MAY GOD BLESS GHANA AND AFRICA.AMEN
