There is nothing technical about whether you are a lawyer enrolled to practice in Ghana or not. There are strictly laid down procedures by the General Legal Council which is the body that regulates the enrollment, conduct and practice of lawyers in Ghana. The regulations unambiguously state that to become enrolled as a lawyer in Ghana, you must (1) have successfully passed a first degree in law, either in LLB(Hons) or BA (Hons) or an equivalent qualifying first degree (2)successfully acquired a BL professional qualification at the Ghana Law School at Makola. Those that have studied their law courses abroad and have successfully been called to a foreign Bar are requested to attend a three months course at Makola, passed the exams and then will be called to the Ghana Bar as lawyers. If one does not do any of these two, one cannot be enrolled as a lawyer in Ghana even if you have been to the Inner Temple in London. Pure and simple. The question therefore is this, did Akuffo-Addo do any of the above in person? If yes then the case is closed, any other thing and he is not a lawyer enrolled to practice in Ghana. One can attend Havard Law, Greys Inn or Inner Temple, you still have to,on your return to Ghana, go to the Ghana Law School for three months, pass your exams before you will be enrolled as a lawyer capable of practicing in Ghana. NDC are empty of how to even get the cedi against international currencies. When NDC/Rawlings was in government, the cedi was at free fall against the USA dollar.Cedi was almost 2 to 1 dollar. Then NPP/Kuffuor came into government, the cedi rose to 1.60 against the USA dollar. When NDC/Mills came in government, what is the cedi rate against the USA dollar? Only fools believe in NDC for better Ghana. NDC are useless to govern. So the last option is distraction from the main issues. They opt to talk about useless issues to divert attention from the main issues facing the nation.
That is NDC, I repeat, NDC are useless to govern, only fools vote for useless empty political heads. NDC is expert to steal elections. I give it to them, they are good even when they are in opposition. But when it come to the real "let's govern", they are useless. Sadly, fools continue to sing praises all because some fools have issues with NPP as being Akan party. They vote not against NPP but against Akans. Some Akans vote NDC because they are opportunist. Akufo-Addo received his primary education at the Government Boys School and later at the Rowe Road School (now Kinbu) both in Accra Central. He went to England to study for his O?Level and A?Level examinations. He returned to Ghana in 1962 to teach at the Accra Academy before going to the University of Ghana in 1964 to read economics. After graduating as an economist, he went on to read Law in the UK and was called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in July 1971 and then the Ghana Bar in 1975.

The Edina people did not owe allegiance to Oguaa (Cape Coast) Chief. They were in their different established political authority as the people of Anomabo, Effutu, Gomoa, Agona, Esim, Denkyira. The Akyems were as established as the Assins, Akwamus, Asantes and Ahanta people of modern Ghana.

As the facts of Nana's international legal practice is emerging, there is a new twist to the allegation, which is that is is true that Nana Addo work with law firms in England and France but as a paralegal, not as a trained and qualified lawyer. So how many times must Nana Addo come out to clear his name over the NDC's stupid propaganda allegations?

Have you considered how insulting it is that Nana's opponents consistently offer no proof for their malicious allegations but call on him to come out with evidence to prove them wrong? What happened to he who alleges must prove?

In any case, Justice Kpegah has sued Nana Addo for impersonating one W.E.D. Akufo-Addo, who is not even on the roll of new lawyers in 1975. The name on the roll of new lawyers at no. 1190 in 1975 is W.A.D. When I pointed this out elsewhere, someone claimed Nana is impersonating his father. But we all know that Edward, Nana's father, became Chief Justice even before he became ceremonial president in 1969. Yet, in the logic of the NDC propagandists, it's all very possible that Edward became Chief Justice long before he was called to the Bar and that his son has been impersonating him.

It's as if we're allowing people with malicious intents to destroy the hard-earned reputation of accomplished professionals, all in the name of politics. I know so many Ghanaians, including prominent figures, who have dropped their Christian names for native names out of a sense of pride in our own culture. By the silly logic the NDC is promoting here, people like Kofi Awoonor and Kwesi Nduom should all be hauled to court for impersonation. For how long should we as a people tolerate this nonsense in our politics?

2. Kpegah is claiming in his writ that the said W.E.D. qualified in England in 1971 and therefore could not also have been called to the Bar in Ghana in the same year.

First, the owner of no. 1190 on the roll of lawyers is W.A.D. Akufo-Addo, not W.E.D. Second, the roll of lawyers clearly shows that W.A.D. was called to the Bar in England in 1971 and in Ghana in 1975. Both calls did happen in the same year, although it is not true that you can't be called abroad and in Ghana in the same year).

In conclusion, Kpegah's writ does not even merit a response because he is accusing Nana Addo of impersonating someone who doesn't even exist on the roll of lawyers. That a former Justice of the Supreme Court should file a writ so flawed only goes to show that Kpegah's intent isn't actually to prove any wrongdoing on the part of Nana in a court of competent jurisdiction but to tarnish his image in the court of public opinion. This writ has been filed out of malice and bad faith.

Vast majority of dissatisfied ghanaians are those who have lost confidence in seeing the country drifting apart through race divide, tribalism, disrespect to society etc etc. Ghana,s democracy needs to be respected if the country is to be seen as an example to the rest of africa in terms of stability, dignity, civilized and at the heart of africa,s political forum. The infighting among its tribes can only diminish the country,s morale and encourage hatred among its own people something which amount to bigotry of low expectations. Our ideology must grow in size and awaken every citizen of nation building,development, growth to attract foreign investment through which job creation can derived from. B ut attacking one another,s tribe with insults and blame would only see us drifting apart and creating a division which end up in calamity as witnessed in other countries, a typical example is Rwanda, Liberia between the indigenous and the Americo Liberians, Ivory coat between GBAGBO and others.Ghana dont need all this, Dr kwame Nkrumah dont need this neither do his ideologist so lets forget about all this tribal thrash and move towards something more articulate and constructive for the benefit of all ghanaians. The only case is the one challenging the legitimacy of the sitting President. Ghanaians are calling on our supreme court judges to as a matter of acute national interest to expedite the adjudication of the election petition brought before the supreme court. Kenya, one of the East African tigers which just had their elections barely a week or so ago, have made significant progress in a similar case brought before their supreme court. Ghana is sitting on tenterhooks and we are calling on our judiciary to address this matter with all the promptness they can muster. Ghanaians are waiting patiently for answers and we need those answers now.
