Above all, the MPs have accommodation allowances for even those living in their own homes with fantastic amounts while teachers unfortunately live as paupers!!! Some is not right somewhere!!! How can we induce such people t give off their best!!

The Mahama led naughty unkept crooks Ghana unfortunately have as people in "government" do not care about Ghana's social welfare and education. What they care is paying dubious settlement monies to their criminal cronies for no work done at all for the people and country.
Instead of using state money to settle and take good care for our selfless teachers, they will use the money to sponsor some unscrupulous fake pastors to Jerusalem to solicit for unavailable spiritual protections for their demonicly devilish deeds as if God has cease to be omnipotent and can not be heard any more in Ghana, when prayed to.
Whilst they have enough to exceed the national budget with unthinkably whooper 8.7 billion yet with no any new projects to show what the monies were used for, buying cars for teenage girl friends, lap tops for seclected buffoonery party footsoldiers and dishing out physical cash to buy votes, they never thought about the despicable social economic state of our poor teachers who sacrifice for our children's education here in Ghana since they have theirs studying abroad sponsored with national stolen monies.

In no particular order - Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Accountants, Architects, Nurses, Police, the Army, etc. all pass through the hands of teachers. It is about time their profession was well recognised.
Senior Army and Police personnel are very well paid, and rightly so. The ranks of corprals and seargents are now better paid than Teachers. Unless this unfairness is addressed, no right-minded person will go into teaching and we will end up producing educated illiterates for some time to come.
Today when you pick up a "recognised" newspaper to read, it is full of grammatical and spelling errors you wonder how those journalists got their jobs and whether they have editors.
Education is the backbone and foundation of every Nation's development. President Nkrumah recognised this and made education free for all. In todays Ghana, education has been relegated to the bottom of the league of professionals.
The Government must act, and act quickly, to rectify the dire situation and plight of Teachers..

If Kufuor had done the right things in his eight years we would not be here. Why are you trying to hold the NDC govt. to ransom. Because you have a two faced agenda, one to sabotage and two to get what you want

Teachers should be a bit thankful to NDC and Attah Mills. Eventhough, K4 adopted the SSSS system, he did it at the very bottom of his administration, knowing he was out of power. No comprehensive thought- through was left for the country.
It has taking govt a pain to honour the ssss system looking at output of public servants in the country and their income.

I am at a lost when teachers complain of low salary in Ghana. The lowest paid (GES)Teacher takes home not less than GHC900 as salary per month. Considering the fact that teachers work for 6 hours a day in a 21-day month, their hourly salary rate is GHS7.14. On the other hand, taking a minimum level banker who earns GHS1,200 per months and works for a minimum of 10 hours per day. This banker's hourly salary rate is GHS5.71. Again, this banker has only 21 day leave period for a year, while his fellow graduate teacher has a minimum of 120 off duty days. Please which of the two is the poorest?. We are all leaving the offices to the class room. I will have more time for my other engagments.
