The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”

The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

The letter then goes on melodramatically, “As you leaf through these pages of my life’s story, I pray to God that it touches your heart in many positive ways. Weep not, I am not dead. I cant say they are angels, i can honestly say that they are the most accommodating people in Ghana. All one needs to do is visit the Manhyia Palace and verify. The Palace is so structured there are places allotted to chiefs of other ethnic groups who swear allegiance to Otumfuo and partake in discussions of regional and national interests. Tell me which chief in Ghana does this? Can you buy say 400 acres of Accra land and call the place Bantama? Go to Kumasi and you will find?:- Anloga, Anwona-Fante new town, Kotei, Nzema line, Sabon Zongo, Fante new town, Moshe Zongo, just to mention a few. Nonetheless, the Cold War era politics was riddled with a lot of twisted dynamics: ONLY the interest òf the two so called superpowers mattered, and any country between them was only good for their convenience. I do understand why Nkrumah "looked" to the East, but remember that even those who opted for the West did not do any better, but were later damped by the their masters. For example, Mobutu and the Congo did not come up any better despite playing stooge to the West, sacrificing congo's huge resources, and the life of one of Africa's gifted nationalist, Patrice Lumumba. Kwame Nkrumah was a great visionary, but happened to rule at a wrong time of history.

Socialism is not totally a bad idea, just like capitalism is not in complete harmony with democracy per se. Now, do we discard Fidel Castro completely because he's opted for socialism? I'll say no, as an answer to that question. The following are some of my reasons: During the apartheid era when our "friends" in the West were behind the racist regimes in South Africa, Angola and Namibia, for the sake of their interest at the expense of Black Africans' lives, Castro dispatched Cuban soldiers on liberation assignment, defeating South African apartheid Defence Force and liberating Angola. Second, as at now, many Cuban doctors are working in many African countries for free. "Free" service is something capitalist West doesn't have in its vocaburary. Do I have the same soft stance for Iran`s Ahmedinejad, if you asked me? No, because his policies are a threat to Mid-East peace and world security. Besides, Ghana does NOT stand to benefit from closer ties with him, or Iran. When it comes to Gathafi, issues surrounding him vis -a-vis international politics was not simplistic: dictotarial, yet Gathafi did "business" with the West until he disturbed their "interest".

Do we have to ally ourself to the West at the expense of our own interest? No, in my opinion, like every country, we have to be mindful of our interest, and if we can derive them from "playing" both socialism and capitalism in an optimally diplomatic manner, without being labeled, so be it.

The world stage is very dynamic and complicated one. I do believe the policy makers Pres. John Mahama has lined up to face off with world's top technocrats is a joke. It looks like Ghana just woke up and find herself in a hell of nowhere, and does not even have a clue where she is, let alone decide which path to take.

Everyday Mahama pulls up a shocking surprise by his indicisions and disappointments, even though he seems to think he's made good decisions or appointments. If he can be this naive on domestic arena which is easier, how can he be able to sail a more complex Ghana's foreign policy through on the world stage? I'm so worried for Ghana.

Leadership is seriously required in Ghana!!!
