Akwesi Appiah should have added Asamoah Gyan to Annan and Clottey. Dropping Boakye Yiadom is a mistake I believe Abeyie had taken one of GFA boss's girlfriend that is the only thing I can think off. Mahatmar Otoo was called based on the so-called Equal Protection the strategic site selection some of the former and current GFA President and member wanted. I say player selection should be based on the player's current form and not where he is playing the nonsense that we should more local players in the Black Star has to stop.

Sammy the Sheriff, Boakyi Yiadom has been placed on a special training program by his club due to his injury and lack of fitness from Afcon invitation. Do you recall he was on bench during the AFCON tournament throughout due to injury? He lost his fitness in the process.

He was on the bench in their last match against Varese on March 9th where they went away and won 4-3.

On the 2nd March, he came in as a substitute for Troiano in the 66th minutes. You could see he was struggling though came in late. Sassuolo lost this match.

February 26th, his club played against Ascoli where he was on the bench, but later came in on the 78th minutes to change Pavoletti.

For some reason, he needs stamina and has been put on a special program to one, recuperate fully and two, to get his fitness back.

I'm not sure but I believe it is the reason he wasn't released to us.

Why picking Emmanuel Frempong and Albert Adormah you asked? Those two have been playing in their respective clubs. In their positions, the defensive midfield where Emmanuel Frimpong plays, Anthoni Annan and Derrick Boateng are the players called during the AFCON tournament. Do you think those players are better than Frimpong at this moment? Derrick Boateng is still sitting on his club's bench not featured. Do you still want us ti invite him, for what?

The right wing where Adomah would be used, who else plays there besides, Solomon Asante? Whom were you expecting to be called ahead of Adormah?

A conglomeration of super-stars does not necessarily make a good soccer team. The players must have team cohesion and team chemistry and self-less devotion to the common good of the famous Black Stars. On paper the selection looks so so and arguably okay. But the main question is whether the players can function as a team. The time is so short for them to practise together and for commander Appiah to know which soccer formation to invoke against the Sudanese. Why invite so many strikers when in AFCON 2013 your main headache was the defence and 'the hide and seek midfield'. In AFCON 1963 we used the 2-3-5 formation marshalled by Aggrey-Fynn , Adarkwa, Ofei Dodoo, Addo Odamettey, Dodoo Ankrah, Salisu, Oblitey, Mfum and Acquah. The Black Stars won 3-0. In AFCON 1970 we used Ben Kuofie's 4-2-4 and 4-4-2 powered by Sunday, Joe Ghartey, Kwasi Owusu, Robert Foley, Amusah Gbadamosi, Abeka Ankrah, Mama Acquah and Robert Mensah. Black Stars lost 1-0 on a penalty shot. One more thing who are the designated penalty shooters? Has Wakaso " the Penalty Wizard" recovered fully and is psychologically ready to shoot more penalties. Has Commander Appiah spent at least 20 hours on the penalty shot allowing each player to take at least 100 shots at different goalkeepers at various speeds , using different sides of their boots ,until each player determines which variety of shots have almost a 100 percent chance of being a goal. Appiah this is your chance to show your skills and sagacity as a coach.

In a desperate bid to save the face of their faltering Black Stars, the Ghanaian media are running a story accusing the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) of working behind the scenes to fix the Lesotho Zambia game to be played on 23rd match.

With Zambia in pole position in a group comprising of Ghana, Sudan and Lesotho, the Ghanaian s are already fearing the worst and their media are running a story accusing the Zambians of conspiring with Lesotho ahead of the World cup qualifying game which on paper looks to go Zambia’s way.

The report reads in part;

“An alleged plot to outwit Ghana in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers courtesy South African solidarity is being hatched by Zambia and Lesotho, according to rumours in Zambia.

Claims are that plans are far advanced for regional neighbours to play it soft for Zambia to gain the desired resulted to enable them edge past Ghana to win the group’s sole ticket to the final phase of the qualifiers.”

With four games and 12 points to play for, it baffling as to how Ghana can think Lesotho would throw away only their 3rd game when they are also in a position to qualify to the next stage of the qualifiers for the Brazil 2014 World Cup tournament.

The report further states that the news has spread like wildfire in Zambia with many people in drinking bars also discussing the possibility of a fixed match when Zambia clash with Lesotho yet the discussion has only been hatched and heard in Ghana.

The real do will finally be in the return leg against Zambia in Kumasi. Once we do not drop points, we should qualify. That is why both players and handlers must be serious for victory. Gyan should be made to play behind Majeed as a second striker cuz he has fizzled as a main target man.He would be a good playmaker with his goal assists. The 3 mafias from Italy;Badu,K.Asamoah and Sulley should take care of the midfield with Atsu on either side of the wing. As for the Back four,that's the best we could offer at the moment and I think Kwarasey should be given the chance to prove himself again in the posts.
Wakasso,Adomah,Asante and Rabiu are all notable subs that can fill in any of the midfield positions as starters too. This is a 4-4-2 formation that I like.
