Ghana's timber business would not necessarily be impaired by the regulations.
The laws of economics dictate that, the regulations would rather enhance Ghana's timber sector, -- as long as there's a continuing demand for our timber in Europe, and markets elsewhere.
The concept at play here is simple "supply and demand".
Granted, the regulations would curtailed the quantity of our timber that would flow to the commodities market. However, as long as the demand for our product is not diminished; we shall even make more money,-- due to price elasticity.
Contrary to what the article entails, the regulations would help us sustain our forest, while at the same time reaping high prrofits.
This is pure capitalism, and our timber sector should endeavour to make the most of it.
May Lord Almighty continue to bless our beloved Great Ghana:
Amen!!!

When are we going to begin industrialization and stop exporting raw products to european and american countries for a pittance? With the warnings and dangers of global warming staring us in the face some countries have responded wisely with afforestation programs yet we're unmoved but fixated on deforestation. Are we ever going to qualify ourselves and bring us to sit at the table of industrialised nations or are we content just to sit under the table and feed on the crumbs that fall from the table? Administration after administration it's the same MO and same lame excuses. When is any new administration going to take the bull by the horns and embark on an ambitious industrialization program ? I know industrialization won't be accomplished in a day but the journey of a million starts with the boldness, courage , vision and hope that inspires to begin the first mile and eventually finish the entire journey . We are not destined to be perpetual slaves and hewers of wood .
Nkrumah started an industrialization program by building factories ,etc. but instead of continuing with this bold plan we've sold and gotten rid of everything Nkrumah started. Instead of embarking on an afforestation program and starting up industries to make use of the timber we're stuck in a 1950 mindset and destroying as we go all in the name of making a pitiable income . Even when the whiteman is taking steps to curtail the insane deforestation program we're begging them to allow us to continue . This is getting crazier by the day with a lazy, corrupt and visionless administration. We'll soon self destruct. Are we ever going to learn or we're consigned to remain toddlers, jokers and a bunch of nincompoops for the entire duration of our existence as a nation and a people though we appear smarter than that? Papa government or administration, lead in the right direction and we'll faithfully follow where you lead us. We're tired of going round in circles and going nowhere.

You think the trees will come from heaven for you to cut them every day if you don't re-plant them. That is the wisdom of black man. Fools plant them. Start re-afforestation now, and the timber business will be revived.

Different people in every country get the mortgage loans in different creditors, just because that's comfortable and fast.
