In some way I agree with you. One does not need to be a former Black Stars player to become a national team coach. If an Air Traffic controller can become a national team coach, other well educated individuals interested in football can be trained to become coaches. I believe that the GFA is just wasting the nation's money by relying on foreign coaches instead of using the money to give Ghanaians quality coaching training, to enable our local coaches deliver better results. Kwasi Appiah in his current state of coaching knowledge or lack of it, has been setup to fail. He needs better training.

Ghana will beg no player to play for her, after all, playing for Ghana increase their fame and opportunities on the world market of football. Again, they don't play for Ghana free, they are paid, so where is the problem? if some players feel they cannot humble themselves, let them go to hell. Ghana will always have players who will be ready to play. Giving others the opportunity to play for Ghana will help them to also get market of football. The best are yet to be born! Ghana needs dedicated and humble players. The Ayews are dedicated but lucks humility and patience!

When some people get all the attention and praise,it goes into their heads and their Ego gets the better of them.

The moment Ghana gets a BLACK and/or GHANA coach, anyone thinks they can defy the coach.

These brothers can be left out.

In the same way that they were discovered, some day others will be discovered.

If they truly love Ghana, they will not let their Ego and Pride rule their heads.

As things are now the inclusion of the Ayew will divide the team. The Black Star players all know what these boys are after. Even before they came out with their retirement issue there was a problem with the team. So why were the other members of the playing team happy when Dede was not included for failure to report to camp. Whether a new coach or not the team will be divided just as was done some time ago by Abedi- their father. A team divided cannot stand. It is better for them to be allowed to retire. Anytime they want to return they must write a letter of apology to GFA and Ghana as a whole.
And they must also compete for position in the team if their letter of apology is accepted for no position is owned by any particular player.
These boys just can not dictate to Ghana for others to emulate them. This canker must be nid in the bud. A word to the wise is enough GFA.

The self retirement of the Ayews from the Black Stars as the world cup qualifiers resume, is neither in their interest nor in the interest of the Black Stars.
The circumstances leading to their exclusion from the AFCON squad, though sad, are now history. We have all seen the shortfalls of the AFCON team and this is the time to be honest and do the right things one of which is the return of the Ayews and the other big stars who were not in South Africa.
A professional player must know that he cannot achieve anything by "doing politics" against his coach. A good coach must also know that he can achieve little without the use of all his top players. That is why there must be wise compromises.
At the end of the day we are not going to award anything for "being principled and strict". All the marks will be awarded for "winning" only.
The type of leadership we need in administering our national teams and particularly football is not the text-book leadership but pragmatic scientific leadership that can manage the ever present egos of our stars. Indeed they need to have big egos to play well. So their managers must not be offended by their egos.
If we don't assemble our best team we might not qualify for the Brazil 2014 in the light of the free points FIFA awarded Zambia as punishment for Sudan for fielding a so-called unqualified player.
2014 is surely for the Ayews so they must not allow pettiness to rule over them.
