Apart from the Kulungugu bombing which was planned by Nkrumah's closest henchmen Ako Adjei, H.H.Coffie-Crabbe the general-secretary of the erstwhile CPP and Tawiah Adamafio the rest of the commotions and bomb throwing moves were initiated from the camp of the UP and Nkrumah was just damn lucky when Mallam Mama Tula was unable to release the bomb he was detailed to blast at the parliament house when Nkrumah was there to deliver an address and later confessed after his arrest at at a CPP rally that when he saw Nkrumah's face he couldn't loose the bomb to kill him b'cos he was simply a great person. The other two notably bomb throwers were no nonsense Teiko Tagoe and Madam Asaaba Quarcoo a radical UP member living inside the Bukom. All these disturbances by the UP prompted Nkrumah to call for the Preventive Detention Act so that anybody who behaved 'like a dog' and not like a human-being would be warehoused in the prison.

Unfortunately, they lasted only 3 years and another Ashanti took over and imprisoned many of them. When these coward UP guys wanted to overthrow Acheampongs g'ment, they couldnt. Another brave & smart Ewe, Jerry Rawlings, the COUP-ENDER came to their aid.

As foolish as they are, instead of uniting and taking back power, they did the "matemeho" tribalistic Ashanti-Akyem shit and lost the elections to Hilla Limann. At the end of the day, the Ewe Rawlings handed over to Kuffour. They couldnt last more than 2 terms.

His ashes were returned to ghana for burial.
It was this good uncle who passed all his text books to my father and help him get his education at the Anglican church.
The blanket that my good uncle gave to my father caused him to be arrested in Accra.
My father was asked by the colonial Police whether he wants to go to jail or Soldier,so my father chose the Army and ended up in Burma Rangoon.
Good uncles are very hard to come by and may his soul rest in Peace.

It was the Akyems and JB Dankwa's refusal to concede after losing his own constituency in elections and subsequent acts to overthrow the government, compare that to what is happening now and Akuffo Addo's trenchant wrathful exuberance. Their take on democracy is divisive. I mean the so called X/akyem Busia/Danquah Tradition. The x means asantes are not buying Akuffo Addo's snake oil this time around, he is too arrogant. He refused to Otumfuo's pre election accord.

I was in Kulungugu in December and what this reporter is saying is quite true, the reconstructed statue has the face slashed off and the statue itself is just by the main road to Burkina. Any future road construction will take the statue off unless engineers think of diverting the road a bit from it.The road to such a historic town is also in a very bad shape.Again this writer should have actually looked for the exact photo of what is left of the statue and not this one.
