Of the 56 years of self-rule, NDC alone had 23 and they have nothing to show for it. Surprisingly it is that till this day none of the NDC supporters and sympathizers see anything wrong and the direction of their party. All they want is their party in government, whether fair or foul. Efficiency is not in their lexicon, yet they shout hoarse at everything the opposition says or does.

When Kwaku Baako informed us about the atrocities of Kwesi Pratt during PNDC Regime, some of us did not believe until the truth was confirmed during the NRC. Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. Now Pratt has the guts to take Diplomatic Passport and smuggled his weak-headed children to work at the Ministries under Mills NDC, may God forgive Pratt and his dependance and spare them of the evils ahead of them...

This is what the imperialists who were behind the 1966 coup wanted Ghana to be;a nation which will be totally dependent on them for everything.Since the coup of 1966 what progress has this nation made in terms of economic development and which has created jobs for ghanaians?Ghana is just a 'warehouse' for foreign goods with ghanaians consuming them to create jobs and wealth for other nations.Since the coup of 1966 it has been economic regression and poverty all along.Even maize and rice which we can produce in Ghana are imported.Quality textiles can be produced in the country and yet we import them.Even toothpicks we import them even though we have timber in abundance in the country. The only way forward for Ghana to solve most of its economic problems especially unempolyment is to industrialise. To continue to patronise foreign industries to the neglect of ours will only deepen our economic problems. We industrialise or we can never solve our economic problems.

It is true that this is what the imperialists wanted our country Ghana to become. However we should rather blame the local imperialist errand boys who have aided the 'colonial (terrorists) masters' to ruin our country so that they can bring it to its knees and take it over again.
By this, I am referring to the likes of Kufuor, Akuffo Addo, Jake Obetsebi Lamptey and co. The NDC has also obediently played the game well for global imperilism without even knowing that this is what they have done. This is because they are too daft to realize what they are doing. A typical example is reverting the name of the Jubilee House back to its former imperialist name - the Flag Staff house. They (NDC) have sold more state enterprises than any of the other equally useless govts since 1966. Tell me, what manner of African can look at a state enterprise like the former Ghana Cement Works and sell it to the imperialists when the demand for cement in this country - a developing country, will continue to outstrip supply for at least the next 100 years. But yet Rawlings and his evil thieving cohorts like the Tsikatas, Ahwois and Totobi-Quarkyies thought that Ghanaians, forty to fifty years after independence, were not qualified nor capable enough of running a cement factory and so sold it as well as other very viable state enterprises under the frivolous and untruthful pretext that we could not efficiently manage them. However the imperialists to whom the factory was sold to, employed Ghanaians to manage it for them. See how stupid Ghanaians can get????
Again, what manner of an African can look at a state enterprise like Ghana Telecom and sell it to imperialists? Despite the fact that we are in the Information and Communication age where telephony is one of the most sought for components in the unprecedented proliferation of information dissemination. Yet Kufuor and his band of subservient imperialist lackeys thought otherwise and went ahead and sold that institution that held not only financial but sentimental and historical value for Ghana. However the imperialists to whom the factory was sold to, again employed Ghanaians to manage it for them. See how very stupid Ghanaians can get????
Today, believe it or not, they are even considering selling off the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR). To that end they have done what they do best by preparing the grounds to undermine and cripple that institution and then say that Ghanaians cannot run it.
Of course if they appoint their dumb friends, relatives and foot-soldiers of their inept political Parties as managers, the damn enterprises will not be well managed. Anyway the long and the short of it all is that either the NDC or the the NPP will eventually sell-off the TOR and then they will get a tidy commission running into a few million dollars from the imperialists that will carry them to the end of their days.
Obviously as far as they are concerned, the future and posterity of Ghanaians can go to hell!

"Let us abhor what is wrong and uphold what is right"! This is just what we all need! Nobody is saying people should not hawk, but not on the streets and pavements! Markets exist for that function. Anyway, it takes two to tango;if people are not buying their wares, they will not be hawking them there. Why not the AMA consider sanctions for both parties, the hawkers and their customers? We as a people are too indisciplined, corrupt, greedy and selfish. Let every one of us resolve on this 56th anniversary to make a concious effort to desist from these ills and see if it will not help improve every aspect of our lives and communities! Let us all contribute our widows, mite and baby steps to solve our woes. "A word to the wise is in the north". Meanwhile happy anniversary to all Ghanaians everywhere on the globe.

My Brother, you piece is good, and at the same time it sad. But who do I blame? For me I always blame the so-called Legoneers (graduates from Legon) who are running our country now. They themselves, most of them are semi ellitrates. I say this without reservation. Because if these people claim to be leaders and the country is sinking into abyss who is to blame? It is very sad. These people have the funds to travel into forein countries and they see the beauty of those countries and yet when they return they fail to implement things that will make our country beautiful. Take the case of Mr. Vanderpuye, former school administrator in the south of the United States, and this is all that he can offer? He is a disgrace to those of us who know him and started the struggle with him from the late 70s from Washington D.C.

Stories of failed nations can be told without end but each starting with the very same underground economic activities that deprive central governments of needed taxes.
For some unexplained reason(s) Ghanaians especially those who pretend to understand and or preach from the property seeking society play book are clueless about the role of government in a civilized, developed, self sustaining and or self sufficient society that requires progressive taxation and an effective and efficient system of tax collection. Ghana is dying a slow death because we cannot provide a continuous supply of electricity, pipe-borne water, in house plumbing, public toilet facilities, effective network of roads and bridges and a national infrastructure that would enhance and attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDI). Our leaders are nothing but chicken hawks with the innate propensity to be thieves and selfish. These are the leaders who cannot implement a comprehensive taxation system that will rid the streets of these hawkers because the “honorable” thieves who represent us in parliament cannot pay civil service workers on time but can afford to pay themselves enough monthly housing allowances to build decent homes in 4 years while they collect their salaries without work. When an Oxford educated Kufour would not blink an eye to sell Ghana Telecom to Vodafone under the pretext of mismanagement or would purchase mass transit buses into Ghana but buckle under pressure from private transport owners it should tell Ghanaians that our leaders have been bought and sold. Every civilized nation, from the West to East do have public transport systems partly or wholly owned by government that competes with private transport companies. Ghana of late cannot count on men with courage, vision and or foresight God forbid with wisdom; we are ruled by men and women afraid of their shadow leading a nation of spineless cheats who do not and cannot understand why we are a nation of beggars even with all the natural and mineral resources some nations can only dream of.
