It is unfortunate that agents of Government tend to put a political twist on legitimate concerns of well meaning Ghanaians only to go out on the International arena to concede their failures. Apart from disgracing the Nation, it is the poor Ghanaian who pays with his/her life.
The NHIS was introduced to improve the lives of the people, unfortunately, the reverse has become the lot of the people.
Let us accept the truth of our shortcomings at home rather than disgrace the Nation before the world.
Thanks.

There was a heated debate between Ras Boateng, the immediate past Director of NHIS and Sylvestor Mensah about the figures being put out there. It ended up with each calling the other a lier now we know who was lying at the time. Such important National body should not be run on propaganda and lies. It is a shame when we admit our lies infront of international meetings and conferences.

Under NDC never believe any figure they give. Ablakwa fanthom 1.6 million jobs, NHIS 67% coverage, single digit infration are all lies as well as Mahama's 51.3% win.

Our leaders do not know how to tell a story without lies! Listen to such disgrace for a whole leader of an international delegation - Dr Anemena - saying they used the report from a lesser organisation to revise their own figures which had been purposely collated for the same meeting to halve their own findings! Who will believe such thrash? It means if the ministry had done their own presentation first, they would have claimed their 67% coverage as the 'true state of the nation's health care'. And they demand to be referred to as honourables and ambassadors. God save our nation! No wonder Afari Djan can claim 241,000 voters registered abroad but can only show 700 names for it. And some irrational NDC pocket lawyers would also say the number of registered voters has nothing to do with the results of the election. Or that biometric verification is not the only way for verifying the true identies of voters so far as our elections were concerned - even when all parties had pre-agreed the "no verification, no vote" directive.

The fact still remains that the NDC gov't lacks the mental capacity and the intellectual acumen to deal with the issues confronting the masses. Propaganda does not fix issues, lies do not fix issues, and most definitely, deceit does not fix issues. Sly Mensah-CEO of NHIA was on record to have said that, our NHIS was way better than that of the USA and UK. What input and analysis went into that conclusion? If you have a bunch of brain dead sychophantic praise singers adminstering the affairs of gov't, the nation retrogresses and that's exactly what is happening in Ghana under this NDC adminstration of Mills-Mahama-Amissah Arthur team. For such non-performance and delivery, such a dimwit should have been relieved of his position aeons ago, but he was at some point being considered for a vice presidential position. What a gargantuan mess.

I get your pointabout premiums and tax funding; but that is irrelevant to the statistical figure put out by the authorities. If we can't do our work well and be honest with the people of Ghana, as has been demonstrated in this case, then someone will do it for us- be it foreigners or whoever.
When Mr Mensah was lying and calling his detractors names, he forgot to remember the old akan adage that says that "if you falt into a pit and cover it, the smell will still come out". One can lie and vehemently defend it for political gain; as is the case in this instance but the truth can never be supressed forever and now the whole NDC lying machine has been caught pants down.Which is sad and shameful not just for them but for the whole country.

If you tell lies plenty enough, a time will come when you are telling the truth and no one will believe.
The NDC party is built on lies.

This information did not tell us how many Ghanaians are registered on the NHIS and how many attended the various providers' facility. Like any insurance scheme, not all the members will attend facilities in a year. It is a fact that though vehicles are insured by insurance companies not all vehicles are involved in accidents in a year or some do not get involved in accidents at all.
Value Added Tax is not paid on some services, food stuff, water, but electricity and mostly industrial products.
The poor in Ghana do not involve themselves in spending that involve the payment of VAT, thus the information which was given seems to be misleading.
