  There was tribalism deeply involved in tis case. The court registrar (accused) is an Ewe [Samuel Agbah Otu]. The victim (complainant) is also an Ewe [Madam Kpogah].
  
  I have a very strong suspicion that the court registrar secretly struck a deal with the victim to scheme the auction process to favour her because they are both Ewes. He then took advantage of the victim's illiteracy to defraud her.

  If this Registrar can prove and authenticate that he paid the said money into the consolidated fund through the bank and granted that is the procedure, he may have no case. Because it occurs that retrieving money paid into chest sometimes becomes burdensome, following all kinds of bureaucratic procedures to get it back. If this Registrar in his attempt to get the money back to return it to the owner had faced constraints and in as much as he never put it into his pocket, he would as well have retire to his rest. After all he never pocketed the money. That is where he has to plead not guilty and allow the story to unfold before the court. Conversely, if he took advantage of the money in his control and decided to use it or deny the owner of claim then he has a lot of troubles to try to exonerate himself of civil wrong of conversion as well as a criminal act of stealing the money with grave consequences .

  This must be lesson to the business men and women.The business men and women must learn who to use lawyers in dealings in transactions.The registrar knew there is no evidence back the business woman claim. But the registrar being stupid expose himself the money has been paid to the consolidated fund.So court need the document of prove that the money has been paid to consolidated fund.
