Kwesi Pratt is the most dangerous Journalist Ghana had ever have, he had the gut to recommend his fellow journalists to be executed by PNDC. Pratt even recommended Baako to be killed by the regime, thank God Baako was instead touchered violently and severely but his life was spared. This is what Kwesi Pratt can do. Now Pratt is a secret agent to NDC and US Embassy in Ghana. May God forgive Pratt and spare him the untold evils that will come upon him and his generations. The souls of those journalist killed through Pratt's recommendations to PNDC will never forgive Pratt. The president in characteristic fashion is admonishing all to desist from these insults "to the presidency and politicians". I am sure he speaks for both sides because the 'mud slinging' has come from both NDC and NPP politicians and supporters. I am glad he has also confirmed my impression of him that "I have never insulted any of my opponents in politics and never will". That is the mark of a true and honest statesman, a decent guy worthy of the high office. He reminds me of president Obama who, despite insults and covert plus overt racism, has always risen above what he has characterized as "cynicism" and got on with his work of governing America.

When his half-brother in Kenya recently sought advice from him regarding his own political exploits, Barack's advice to him was - "just put on a thick skin, be humble and believe in what you want to do". In other words, ignore the mud thrown at you and all the insults. Somehow in Ghana politics, some people seem think that the cheap, base, uncouth American Fox News style of direct insults and disrespect of people in high office (and indeed the high office itself) is OK, and so some of them who profess to be Christian will throw insults at their opponents, then invoke God to give them what they want!!! Surely there are far better ways of doing business and politics than this.

When you find me apparently arguing 'for the president or any other person for that matter', it is merely because of the way they are handling these issues and NOT because I am in any way affiliated with him or his party the NDC. I will not hesitate to condemn his government for the wrong decisions, actions, omissions etc. as indeed I have done e.g. in the case of certain ministers who have demonstrated immaturity, arrogance and lack of wisdom or MPs who don't understand the title "Honourable" and think it is a platform for them to insult others and display their own stupidity and arrogance - the very opposite of what the president is portraying himself. Why can't these babies with ... learn by example?

In my candid opinion, chiefs have outgrown their usefulness and the institution has lost it's relevance. However, if we still want chiefs in our societies, then, in my opinion, they should be voted into power as the politicians.
