Sometimes people or nations can be given the go ahead to do things for us that become more of a problem than a solution. It's time our government learns to say "no" to grants or loans from countries that tie these grants to terms that in the long run create problems for us. The Indians believe in their architects: it's time Ghanaians also believe in their own architects too.

No the White house is not in the "middle" of Washington DC. get your tourist map n check it out or get onto the net, the white house is such a massive complex you cant say that n on top of that the fence walls are seriously far away from the building, there r no embassies,bars, media houses etc so close to the building, only security complexes n white house buildings. n on top of that some areas around the building have restriction of movement and access. so its better to say the white house is isolated in the middle of Washington DC.

Some other "thinker" said the same about 10 Downing street, my challenge to that intellectual is to go knock on the door of 10 Downing street n take a picture????

Didnt the government know about these obstacles before tendering the contract to build this white elephant. it seems someone just sat on their bum and signed off papers without doing all these important checks and consultation. whoever is responsible should be punished as per the law of land. but the question is this seem like a norm in ghana as recently in the headline one of the senior officers of the ghana highway authority when questioned about the lack of foot bridges on some high roads did mention that enough checks, consultant and inspection wasnt done before the construction of the current footbridges on that particular road. and dont forget the number of deaths because someone paid by the tax payer didnt think it right to go out and inspect the project. sad state of ghanas development.

It's not TV3 or French Embassy or GBC which is the problem. The problem is the Flagstaff house itself. It should not be at the there in the first place. That place is busy area with noise pollution beyond acceptable decibels

The Jubilee complex is a monument to Kufuor's stupidity and vanity. He wanted to leave a lasting legacy of his presidency and could think of nothing better than a complex which would benefit only the President and a few members of gov't.

Would it not have been wiser to use the money for projects which would benefit the whole population eg schools, hospitals, rehabilitate our railway system?

That project is not foolish nor stupid. It is politicians who have made it so by politicising this building. Kuffuor rehabilitated Peduase lodge with millions of dollars, why are we not hearing any condemnation from these same politicians? Even more advanced countries who have a lot more sensitive information have their presidential office and residence bang in the middle of town and have not had any problems. So what are we talking about in this small country? In Ghana where everybody ones to be somebody, little issues are blown out of proportion.
