Thank you Kerl and Maths. I used to have a lot of respect for this Attafuah guy but today is definitely his end for me. Anybody who endorses a practice that threatens the very existence of the human race, deserves to be treated with the highest derision and contempt that the human race can muster. There are no 'ifs' and 'buts' about this. Homosexuality in itself constitutes an abhorrent violation of the integrity and our presumed superiority of the human race amongst all other homo sapiens.
I agree with you Kerl (above) that some of these so-called African intellectuals and societal big-wigs who wear blond wigs and Quaker gowns with cravats and all, in the tropics, have turned themselves into errand boys and moles of decadent alien societies only so that they can easily get Visas to travel and also financial support from our oppressors to run their otherwise non-starter businesses and organizations. Even though this exchange of iniquity is carried on surreptitiously between the moles and those who have an interest in keeping us Africans backward and down, it is the worse form of corruption on the face of the earth. It means that we as a people are with the assistance of some of our own, being held to ransom by the wiles of others - just like during the period of the slave trade. It is an unspoken trade in which ones words and actions justify ones inclusion in the sordid affair.
All these weird people like Oye Lithur and Attafuah are not ashamed that they have to dress up like clowns and idiots to please foreign interests before they can become lawyers and earn a living. They are now going further beyond that to drag us all into the circus of bestiality. No! We wont have it – even at the cost of our lives.
All over Africa, there has been a huge unanimous cry against this clearly abnormal practice of some human beings who by act and deed are imperfect. Why are we discussing the application of the same laws that were virtually imposed on us by people who are imposing this abnormality on us, to justify this perversity? Law or no law, the people say that we don’t want it – cant we all hear? Do we need to embark on massive acts of civil disobedience before they begin to understand?
As for people like Obama and Cameron who are employing all sorts of arm-twisting and blackmail tactics to get us to do what we clearly don’t want to do, they should think again.
If they want our rubbish, I appeal to the British High Commission and the US Embassy to come to our aid – like usual, to make available the necessary financial logistics and Visas to all incurable cases of homosexuality with a one way ticket to either America or Britain where they will be able to enjoy limitless democratic homosexual rights and practices. Here, we wont have it. End of the story.

Please Ato do me a favour and ask Kerl and Maths to answer the following question for me. All of a sudden their 16-year-old comes to them for help (if they have one) on everything from friendships to homework. Kerl and Maths banter for hours about politics, sports, and the latest television show with their 16-years boy. Then all of sudden he tells Kerl and Maths that he’s gay, Kerl and Maths find their tongue-tied. Are they going to kill this boy? Wait till it happens to them. Yes Ato! In some African countries, there has been colossal homophobic blubber against in your own words this imperfect practice (homosexuality). Don’t you think your article will promote homophobic attacks? What has Prof Attafuah done to be ashamed of? All what Prof is talking about are the fundamental human rights for these individuals irrespective of their sexuality.
Trust me Ato, I do not agree to the above practice, but I will not judge them. As the human rights are underpinned by a set of common values that have been prevalent in societies, civilisation and relations throughout history, such as fairness, respect, equality, dignity and autonomy we need to exercise these common values. That is why law or no law, embarking on massive acts of civil disobedience would be wrong in my opinion.
I know in the western world this is an age of increasing acceptance and approval of homosexuality. Homosexuality is portrayed by many in government, in public education and in our colleges and universities as just one of many normal, legitimate lifestyle choices. However those who go up against the homosexual lifestyle on moral and religious grounds are usually portrayed by the intellectual elite as ignorant bigots who are full of hatred, “homophobic,” and so on.
It is true that some people hate homosexuals and they even engage in “gay bashing.” But it must be remembered that people who employ in such activities are sinning against God; they are not at all living in accordance with the law of Christ.
I know God’s moral law clearly condemns homosexuality of any kind: It states that thou shall not lie with a male as with a woman. As it is abomination, it went on to say that if a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman (Lev 18:22), both have committed a repugnance in which they shall surely be put to death (Lev 20:13).
However, true Christian should love people irrespective of their sexuality and shows it by treating them in a lawful manner, according to the law of God (1 Jn. 5:3). Slander, violence, hatred and scorn should never be the attitude of a Christian towards gay people. Christians should protect gay people from personal attacks.
Until the law of the land is amended, gay people in Ghana can ask the law to help them to be treated fairly by the likes of you and Kerl/Maths.

Professor Atafuah first of all an orientation is not biological it is a-biological meaning that an orientation is only acquired in society. Thus no person is born with any aspect of human endeavour, but he or she acquires it in society and being a member of society. A person living outside society as some girls who were found in India living with wolves does not have any orientation because they were not political animals.
I am of the view that since the 1992 Constitution did not mention anything about murder and armed robbery, though they are codified in our law books as crime, those two crimes are said to be unconstitutional, since they are not specifically stated in the constitution. From the above it will be supposed that other criminal acts in our legal books are of no effect, since the constitution did not define them.
However some of us do not want to be on the lunatic fringe with Prof. Atafuah, thus can not turn our head the other way when a person want to kill himself or murder another person. Whatever demean the dignity of the human person, cause injury and dehumanize him or her is against the fundamental human right of a person. If we are to go with persons on this lunatic fringe, then any sickness is a biological orientation of the human body and any attempt to cure a person of his or her illness is an infringement on the fundamental human rights of a person to become sick, which is biological.
Even though a lunatic has the right to lose the social function of his mind society see it as a fundamental human right to confine him or her and cure her or him of the illness. Thus the larger part of society that is not on the lunatic fringe belies that malaria and lunacy though an orientation demean the dignity of the human person and deprives him of what is most precious - life. From the above we shall say that there is no freedom and human right different from letting a male human being to conform with what other animals who eat meat do sexually. A tom cat does not mate with a tom cat and a bull dog does not mate with a bull dog. Meaning that biologically there is no orientation from the normal with cannibal mammals, including Homo sapiens.
Thus the human right and freedom of a person ends when he or she is about to cause injury to him or herself or another person. That is the reason why Prof. Atafuah a police man who shoots to disable a person who was about to commit suicide rather protected his or her human dignity, human right and freedom, rather than commit a crime. We wrote on this forum how lawyers supported a lot of social evils in the past of which the distribution of opium and usurping of the very freedom, human dignity and property of people became a law, even to date.

Ghanaian Human Rights Lawyers do not in reality defend the life, human dignity and freedom of Ghanaians.
There was the issue of a police man in Kumasi who defended the life, human freedom and right of the people there by arresting an armed robber. Though the armed robber threatened to kill the police man if released our human right lawyers and judges saw to it that the police man lost his life, and his life was taken by the same armed robber who our human rights lawyers see to have had more right than the police man who was protecting the right and freedom of the larger population to live in peace, without treat to their lives and property. That police man was a fatality of Professor Atafuah, Nana Oye Lither and their colleagues. Thus Professor Atafuah and Oye Lither and others in their camp rather see law abiding citizens to be infringing on the right and freedom of others since they do not commit what they do not see as crime, but entertain the society. In the courts of our human rights lawyers you see the Greek gladiator before you with the right to commit by "right of law" any crime to entertain the mob.
Also come to the fore some of the absurdities of our human rights lawyers.
I was told by the same lawyers specifically that their party NPP is in power so they can not look at my issue and that I should take it to the International Court of Justice and Atafuah was then at the Commission of Human Rights and Administrative Justice.
A woman broke into the dormitory of student, stole their lap tops, money, mobile phones and other items. The student apprehended her which Prof. Atafuah said today should not be done because it infringes on the right of a thief or armed robber if the affected person arrest him or her. Our human rights lawyers were of the view that though they profess the freedom and right of the human person in that case the students were none-humans and do not deserve any right and freedom.
The and their human right judge agreed and freed the thief for her to return to the place of crime and commit the same crime. The students effected a citizen arrest again that is their right according to our criminal laws. It is on record that I let the uncle of Capt. Effa Dartey to effect a citizen arrest of a person who owes him and was about to abscond. In that case why was it that Effa Dartey did not cause my arrest for directing another citizen to seize the vehicle of another citizen and drive him to my office.
The absurdity was committed when the thief was released from prison custody for the second time and seeing that our human right lawyers are at her calling to go and deprive the students of their property she went back to the crime scene to commit the same crime. When she was apprehended this time she requested that the male students satisfy themselves sexually and free her, having realized that they were ready to lynch her this time.
The students fingered her took their items from her and released her to go and sin no more.
Then came in Prof. Atafuah and Oye Lither that the male students have sexually assaulted the thief, for what she requested for.
The Legon University Authorities who also see their students as not humans, but objects and that the thief has more human right and freedom than them dismissed the students, which was another absurdity committed by not a mob, but an institution made up of intellectual who can not protect the right and freedom of students to live peacefully in the university.
The other absurdity which our human right lawyers are yet to wake up from and since they are not willing to leave their slumber will continue to inflict fatalities and absurdities on us was the Amina case.
Here a woman named Amina broadcast on the electronic press that an armed robbery took place, men on the on the vehicle were forced by the armed robbers to have sex with the women. She alleged that a man who was sending her daughter to the a school in the North was force to defile her daughter against his will. When Amina was arrested and in this case our human rights lawyers see the girl who was alleged to have been defiled, his father and the other passengers as the criminals of the alleged crime, rather than victims. Professor Atafuah and others were falling all over each other to prove to Ghanaians and the whole world that what was alleged by Amina really took place, further stressing that the other passengers who were on the vehicle with Amina were wrong or have by virtue of traveling on that UTONG bus committed some crime.
The absurdity by our human rights lawyers and the judge was that the girl who was alleged by Amina to have been defiled by the father and those women who were alleged to have been rapped by the men on the bus, which proved to be a ruse by the NPP to prove to the world that the government was not fighting armed robbery in Ghana all turned to be none-human and without any right whatsoever.

Kwame,
You appear to have confused the concepts of rights, freedom and responsibility.Similarly you appear to misunderstand the concept of orientation as used in sexual orientation. Your analogies are misplaced contextually and your intepretation of the law within our constitutional framwework is essentially flawed.
You attack Prof. Atttafuah in your opening sentence by asserting "orientation" is not biological and present the rather strange logic that orientation is only acquired in society. You obviously are referring to orientationin a sociological context, whilst the Prof. defines it in terms of a physiological response or reaction. In deed in terms of the arguments about sexuality, one of the deifining arguments is around whether or not the orientation of homosexuals is attributed to a genetic/physiological attibutes- this is clearly a biological argument and you definitely argue from a very different tangent. Yor reference to the girls living with wolves in India to support your orientation argument, actually makes it even more confusing, because the girls would have adjusted to their environment. This is called environmental orientation.Your attempt to link your orientation argument to the girls not being political animals is completely off point, empty and off tangent. It only succeeds in exposing the warped and petty logic.
In relation to your reference to the provisions of our 1992 constitution not having to literally define every criminal or deviant act, it may interest you to know that the framers of the constitution,as indeed in any constitution is to define rights, responsibilities and sanctions in broad contexts which are subject to legal interpretations in court or other such bodies so defined.
What Prof. Attafua refers to within these constitutional rights are those of expression, association and dignity of life.
Criminal behaviour are not exhaustively listed in our constitutional document, but defined within broad contexts. Similarly, sanctions against criminal behaviour and pathways for seeking redress are contextually defined.
So although homosexuality is not expressly mentioned in our constitution, it is in context "protected" within the context of the freedom of expression ( ie of sexuality) and association ( the right to form relationships).
The constitution also protects the sanctity and dignity of life which is defines as inviolable.
What the Prof. and Nana Oye Lithur are saying is simply this.
Although homosexuality as a form of sexual orientation may be unacceptable within our cultural or value system, it is unacceptable to subject them to criminal sanctions, violent physical, verbal or emotional abuse. This is simply because they have committed no crime.
It may therefore be useful, Kwame, to try and strip your arguments of emotion as this tends to discolour your logic. In this case it has distorted your logic quite significantly.

Mr. Kofi Amankwah the difference between science and mob thinking is that science look at real facts and genetic/physiological belongs are branches of biology. We stated that orientation is a social category and has nothing to do with the biological. Therefore there is no biological carpenter, a carpenter becomes a carpenter through instructions and practice in society. Thus Prof. Ken Atafuah was wrong again when he tried to deride the albino biological property of Mr. Efo Amoani. The colour of the human body has to do with his biological inheritance, whiles an orientation is a social category and can not be confused with the biological. A cook is a social orientation and not biological. The belief by bourgeoisie social scientist that the carpenter orientation of an individual is a biologically therefore a biological instinct has been debunked, since a person because a carpenter by virtue of being a member of society, rather than a member of a lion pride.
We also stated that when one is talking about the laws on Ghana it includes the constitution, acts enacted by parliament and international conventions. For instance lawyers may quote any part of the constitution to support their argument but for instance the right to annual leave and terminal benefits is not written in the 1992 Constitution, but is found in other laws.
When you say that a person has a right you are saying that he or she is allowed by law to perform an act. It will imply that a murderer has a right and thus when a person intend to take the life of another he or she should be allowed to do so. We gave practical evidence of such an absurdity that has been committed by Prof. Ken Atafuah and others, a false freedom that led to an armed robber killing a police man.
You people want us to believe that the criminal has more right than the citizen who does not commit a crime of which homosexuality is one. Then the absurdity will be that criminals must be let out of the prisons and citizens who do not commit crime be send to the prisons because they do not have any right by virtue of not committing a crime.

Prof. Attafuah is quoting the constitution to suit himself. Whilst I do agree that no one should be discriminated against we, Ghanaians, must bear in mind that every country's constitution is written based on certain principles i.e. constitutions are written based on a country's history, culture, religion and environmental orientation.
There is nowhere in the constitution that its framers say "no one shall be discriminated based on his or her sex or sexual orientation". Neither section 15 nor 17 which the Prof has sometimes quoted is explicit on the matter. What the Prof. is using public space to do is to say to Ghanaians that Section 15 has an implied meaning. I personally do not think so. If that section could explicitly say what category of people's orientation can not be discriminated against, I do not see why the framers of the constitution can not call 'sex' or 'sexual orientation' by its name. I believe that the framers of our constitution bearing in mind our culture and religion chose not to include that which is obnoxious in the eyes of Ghanaians. May I make a proposition here and that is: if homosexuality is to be allowed regard then it will be equally wrong for a charge of public indecency. If the law should be changed it will first have to be tested in court. Gays as humans have a right but how do we separate crime from the criminal? There are two forms of rights - inherent rights (God given) and earned rights such as those imposed by the state, societies or clubs etc. There are no rights without responsibilities. Anyone who wants to enjoy his/her rights as laid down by the state should work towards it. Gays have right to life (God Given) yes, but they also have a duty to their state and society by being law abiding citizens. Will Prof. allow any of his children to be a gay or lesbian? If no why? If yes why?
If there is no single sect or community in Ghana which allows the practice why should intellectuals like Prof waste public time in insisting on a subject which has no bases in national law and culture? Homosexuality is foreign, leave foreigners who want to practice it to do so. We have copied many things blindly in the name of civilisation, democracy and human rights. This is not good for a nation that is struggling to feed its poor, provide good roads, uninterrupted power and water supply.
I read on Ghana web a student counsellor from one of universities in the country urging the President to come out with his position on the matter. This is another arm twisting event. The President's position should not be different from his predecessors. What even if he had a position, can he change the law without contest? Should that be his priority? If those proponents of Lesbianism or whatever it is called want to secure their so-called rights let them grant asylum to such people and stop holding Ghana back.

Some school of thought would have preferred Nana Oye Lithur to turn the heat from homosexuals to talking about how to protect women, children and the old people more especially how rapist and domestic violence victims cases would be handled in consultation with the police, the domestic violent community protection watch dogs, mental health and other analogous institutes. She can call for help from some criminologists who will do some comparative criminology by learning and researching by benchmarking the best practices of what pertains in Europe. There are more rapist and domestic violent cases more on the increase more un reported cases than reported cases. We are ready to help her work. Congratulations anyway.

The issue of homosexuality is very thorny and must be handled with much care.In as much as it is some people's choice of lifestyle,I think they should not allow it to influence the youth and the little children. It should be behind closed doors,as it used to be in the 70s.They should not be allowed to infect our future leaders with whatever sickness it is.This thing is foreign and never near anything Ghanaian, but our tendecy to embrace anything foreign has given birth to these mishaps. What will be the next, incest, beastiality? The fact that somebody likes to do something bad does not make it right for people to approve and adopt it as a lifestyle.Homosexuality is wrong in every way. Therefore, let's be careful.Thank you all.

Prof Ken Attafuah by your name I am inclined to believe that you come from Akim Area and precisely from Oda. Homosexuality is not an African culture. Sexual activity is between MAN AND WOMAN. Anything outside that is an ABOMINATION. Is against the will of GOD. Anybody who engages in that or favours it will surely face God's wrath. The people of Ghana should not entertain this NONSENCE. Prof. Ken Attafuah and Oye should know where they come and try to enshrine their culture, defend and uphold the good name of their ancestors. God Bless Ghana.

why do you persecute arm robbers? don;t they have right as well?
Sure armed robbers do have rights, they just DO NOT HAVE ANY RIGHT to rob something that does not belong to them.
That is stupid. Do you think they have the right to rob people not to mention with guns?
If two people choose to rob themselves, that is fine with me.
Gay/lesbian right is of huge concern globally. It is perhaps the biggest human rights issue of our time just as civil rights for African Americans were in the 1960's and freedom for all South Africans was, and finally accompl ...
