To even hint that Aliu should have been given an uncontested free pass to the flagbearership of the NPP is to insult the memory of the man, and also project that the only way Northerners can get ahead in Ghana is for them to be given free passes.

Fool, it is a democracy. Aliu contested with 16 others, what makes you think we should have just crowned him? Where did you go to school?

Why do you continue to talk like you are second class citizens and still need free passes to get anywhere. Don't be a fool. Northerners have to compete like everybody else. Equal before the law and our eyes. This is different from free education. This is leadership of the country and not your stupid country club or association.

The NDC would have to explain to Ghanaians how a dead man came to author and sign a letter!

The opening paragraph states, “I came to serve; I have finished my time here on earth and have moved on to everlasting rest and celestial duties with my heavenly father.”

The immediate question is; how did the dead man come to sign his own personal tribute, since he is already in heaven?

The letter then goes on melodramatically, “As you leaf through these pages of my life’s story, I pray to God that it touches your heart in many positive ways. Weep not, I am not dead. Even if this 'true' lies has some element of truth, why did the victim of the said 'NPP Akanism', Alhaji Aliu himself, campaigned all out for Nana Bawumia before his mostly regretted and untimely demise? Traitor Haruna Atta is just behaving like a hungry chameleon whose knife cut at both edges. Now he is singing NDC because he is hungry. I wouldn't be surprise if this ingrate come out to deny this story sometime later after the supreme Court do the right thing and give power to where it belongs. Ass hole.

This sounds like opportunism and an attempt to seek favour from President Mahama for ministerial position. Why is he making public who he voted for and why has he kept quiet over the alleged treated of the late former Vice-President till now?

He was reported recently to have said that he would welcome an invitation from the President to serve in his government. After not receiving that invitation, he has now moved a step further to make sure that he is invited. I am afraid, he would wait in vain because President Mahama will not appoint leading members of NPP into his cabinet. If you are unhappy within the NPP why not leave?

What is he talking about NPP being anti-Islamic? Is he equating Islam to people from the North? It sounds like acts of desperation to get into government. What are his real intentions and could he be planning to a mole in Mahama's government? Mahama should be careful with appointing those who are outside his party.

Aliu Mahama was ill and that is why he didn't want to run as the flagbearer. Moreover Dick Cheney didn't run nevertheless as the flagbearer of the Republicans. Ahaji Haruna is not a devoted party supporter and NDC must be aware.

Maybe it wasn't a deliberate action against Aliu, but as a Moslem, he might have misconstrued all those instances as an attack against his status.

There is no secret that the NPP is the most open political party in Ghana where everybody and anybody in good standing can seek a position in the party. As far as I can recollect, nobody prevented Aliu from contesting to be the flag bearer of the party. Is this guy trying to say it should have been given to him on a silver platter? It does not happen in any proper democracy. I am absolutely sure, he would have been well projected and supported had he won the contest. Where was Harruta Atta when the NDC humiliated Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings in favour of the late Atta Mills? And if Atta Mills hadn't died do you really think Mahama would have been selected as the presidential candidate? If NPP is an Akan party then NDC is truly an Ewe and Northerners party of which many of us have no problem with, however, it looks like the majority of the Ewes and the Northerners have a problem with the NPP success and therefore NDC has to rig elections in order to get elected.
