For as long as this is played in a peaceful atmosphere, I am begining to love the game.
Day in, day out, we are getting to know that making an allegation in public because you have access to a microphone is not enough to win a case.
For some days, we have been told that it is the NDC that is working round to delay the process. Now it so happens that the petitioners are also requesting further details from the 2nd respondent.
Interestingly, nothing is being requested of the 1st respondent nor the 3rd respondent, even though these respondents were accused to have connived with the 2nd respondent to rig and steal votes from the petitioners.
Let the music play on.

This is hypetetical question that every Ghanaian should be asking. Will Current President, Mahama accept the verdict of the SC or will Akuffo Ado also accept the SC verdict? The best case scenario, is to return to Party Head quarters to re-shufful the party for the next election I.e. in 4 years time. If the SC announce a verdict, the loser has no alternative than to return to his base quietly until the next election. Ghana doesn't belong to NDC neither does it belong to NPP or any group of people and it's now govern by RULE OF LAW and if of the party is found guilty by the SC, the party found guilty will.accept the verdict and move on to fight another day.

Are you proposing a new type of litigation?Have you ever heard of a case where the respondent has no idea why he is in court what the offence is and where the offence was committed and how do you expect the person to properly defend himself. If you even want to produce the evidence in court, the rules of natural justice would require that the respondents should be given the particulars they want in order to effectively defend themselves otherwise the case can not proceed because they would not know why they are there, when the offence was committed and where and the nature and time.Without these details ,i am afraid the npp's case will be dismissed as having no merit.Procedural propriety is an essential ingredient in litigation and you are obliged to follow the rules of the game.Any time wasted as a result of adjournment for the respondents to study the allegations and prepare their defence will be the fault of the npp.If you want Akufo to be installed president by the sc soon then they have to produce the evidence by cooperating. This not a forum for surprises.

The respondents are entitled to ask for evidence under under Rule 69 A (4) of the Supreme Court (Amendment) Rules, 2012 (C.I. 74), which says a respondent may apply for further and better particulars in order to prepare adequately for a case.
The petitioners must provide the legal basis and the reasons for their request. They said they had the evidence. Is what they are asking for additional evidence and how does that show over voting and the conspiracy they allege? Did the EC hold meetings with the NDC with no other party in attendance? If not then the NPP should have minutes of the meetings it attended. Special Voters register must be a public record as it covers those who cannot vote on election day because they are involved in the process.

The EC has material evidence in their custody and it would be a mockery of this Rule 69 A(4) you are referring to if the EC is to request of the petitioner information that the EC is supposed to be a custodian of. The EC does NOT need any help from the petitioners to provide the material evidence based on which they declared Mahamah as the winner of the election. The EC have custody of the Biometric machines used in the registration of voters and those used in the verification of voters before voting. These machines plus all the declaration sheets used by the EC in declaring the results of the election are in the custody of the EC. They cannot ask of same evidence from the petitioners. The EC claims to have included over 250 thousand voters registered in Ghana's missions, including students on scholarship but the figure does not reflect the known numbers of these Ghanaians. The EC is obliged to provide that list as evidence to support their own claims. It is a duty they owe every Ghanaian. The petitioners definitely will have to provide the specific polling stations and constituencies where they claim irregularities occurred but the EC and NDC cannot ask for that "material evidence" to enable them file their defence. The NDC and Mahama must rather be asking of the EC to produce the "material evidence" based on which Mahama was declared victorious to the court to debunk whatever the NPP may produce in the court process as their evidence. After all, the EC is supposed to be the custodian of "true" results by which authority they declared Mahama the winner. What particulars would be "better" or would give "further" insight into the whole drama than what the EC used in declaring Mahama the victor?

EC should have been going thru all voters reg to see if they miss something. Instead they are asking Akufo Addoh and his team to show them the mistakes made in the voting. I think they were sure the election wasnt rigged.
