It would be foolhardy for NPP (the opposition) to even slightly agree with anything he says or does, even if he says God is Good, they might say "What has God done for Ghana lately?".

The Western Region Chiefs gave him an ultimatum to appoint KOFI Buah to the Oil and Energy Ministry and he did.

The Tamale Northern cows destroyed properties and demanded he appoints HarunA Iddrisu as a Minister and he did.

He nominated Pelpuo to the Tourism and Creative Arts Ministry and the so called Ghana celebrities in the film Industry said he was the wrong person to head that Ministry and he succumbed to them by yanking Pelpuo from that nomination. When is this yahoo President going to grow balls and say No?

Minister Rashid Pelpuo is not the Right Person for Us - Socrates Safo

Film Producer Socrates Safo has told Citi news that Minister-designate for the Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Ministry, Rashid Pelpuo might not be the right person for the job since he is not an industry person.

Speaking to Citi News, Socrates; a critic of the arts industry in Ghana says the best choice would have been a member of the industry.

“We as creative arts people are a bunch of delicate persons and if we are not handled well, it’s either we will confuse and frustrate you or you will confuse and frustrate us. So it’s about time that we get people who are in the industry to work for creative arts people; if you bring technocrats, lawyers, scholars, whatever you will create confusion in the industry. In the end the government will not benefit from the idea and the purpose for which it has established the industry.”

He says such a person will better understand the frustrations of members of the industry. According to Mr. Sarfo government should deal with people in the industry; “we are very open, we know what we want, nobody can decide for us”, he said.

He however lauded the President for moving the creative arts industry away from the Ministry of Chieftaincy.

Meanwhile; spokesperson for a group of creative arts members who paid a courtesy call on President Mahama last week; Selasie Ibrahim has told Citi News their biggest expectation of the Minister-designate; Rashid Pelpuo is to bring the various sections of the industry under one umbrella.

“We have too many individual groups for individual glory.”

Well, you can ignore him, but what he's saying is right. You cannot, as executive President, choose your own Ministers and then, as if these Ministers were not good or competent enough or trustworthy within a week after their appointment you appoint new Ministers of State who practically have the same portfolios as the other Ministers. This is ridiculous and a recipe for confusion, in fighting, bad management waste of resources. In fact when the NDC was in Opposition they the impression they gave was that the Kufuor government was wasting our resources by having a big government. However, when Atta Mills took over, his government was bigger than Kufuors and now Mahama has raised it even to a higher level.
If this is just to create jobs for the boys, then this is a big shame and Ghanaians have themselves to blame.

Mahama thinks creating a big government will solve Ghana's problems. For me, Mahamas appointments tell me how lazy he and his NDC crooks are. He thinks one minister and his/her deputy is not enough for one ministry. Example Mahama has created a minister for the oil industry and at the same time has a different minister of energy. Why can't one minister takes care of both since they all fall under the same category - Energy.
