Don't let the so-called AFAG fool you with their often now and then sweet talking jive, bro! They only voice their parable before all when it is in the interest of their “Kukrudian paymasters.” The Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is just a big dissimulation platform set up to hoodwink the unsuspected masses. But, dig deep and “kalabulism” will certainly come greeting you with a big smile on her “Kukrudian” face.

AFAG SHOULD HAVE SEEN THESE PROBLEMS AHEAD AND SHOULD HAVE ASKED THE NPP PARLIAMENTARIANS TO ATTEND THE SWEARING IN AND INAUGURATION OF THE PRESIDENT. THE NPP PARLIAMENTARIANS HAVE FOUND THEMSELVES NOW IN A QUAGMIRE HAVING SET A STANDARD THAT THEY ARE NOT RECOGNISING THE PRESIDENT. SO NOW THEY ARE FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO SIT ON A COMMITTEE TO VET MINISTERS APPOINTED BY THE VERY PRESIDENT THEY HAVE TAKEN A STAND NOT TO RECOGNISE. SO THE TRUTH IS THAT THE NPP AND ITS PARLIAMENTARIANS HAVE TRAPPED THEMSELVES IN A CAGE THEY HAVE WOVEN TO BE USED TO TRAP OTHERS. THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY IN A VERY TIGHT CORNER. THEY VERY MUCH WISH TO BE ON THE VETTING COMMITTEE BUT ARE ASHAMED OF BEING LABELED AS PLAYING DOUBLE STANDARDS. THE BEST AVENUE FOR THEM NOW IS TO APOLOGIZE FOR THE BOYCOTT AND THEN WITHDRAW THEIR EARLIER STAND AND THEN ANNOUNCE THEIR RECOGNITION OF THE PRESIDENT AND THEN GET ON BOARD WITH WHAT IS REQUIRED OF THEM IN PARLIAMENT. I SAID LONG AGO THAT "SMALL SHAME IS BETTER THAN BIG SHAME". GHANA MUST MOVE FORWARD AND THEY MUST KNOW THAT WITH THEM OR WITHOUT THEM THE VETTING WILL GO ON AND THE REST OF THE COUNTRY WILL MOVE FORWARD. BUT WHAT THEY MUST BE ASKING THEMSELVES NOW IS WHETHER THEY WILL CONTINUE BOYCOTTING ALL ISSUES THAT GET TO PARLIAMENT FROM THE PRESIDENCY. THEY SHOULD ALSO BE READY TO FORFEIT THEIR PAY AS PARLIAMENTARIANS IF THIS TREND OF FAILING TO PERFORM THEIR DUTIES CONTINUES. THE PUBLIC AND THE PEOPLE THEY REPRESENT CANNOT ACCEPT SUCH ATTITUDES. NO NOE VOTED FOR THEM AS PARLIAMENTARIANS WHO WILL NOT WORK BUT GO FOR THEIR PAY AT END OF EACH MONTH AND ALSO TAKE HOME FAT MONIES AND GOODIES AS END OF SERVICE PACKAGE. THIS NONSENSE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. (Romanus is asking all concerned Ghanaians to rise up and tell this Parliamentarians something for them to sit up).

I am mightily amused to see the terrible rancour in the Mate Mehu NPP. In fact I am tickled pink to see how the NPP are tearing each other apart. The NPP is in a free fall and with it ensuing free-for-all fight. WB Tarzan is now seen by NPPians as befouling his own nest after he has feathered his own nest as Ghana@50 overseer. Anyone who criticizes the ill-conceived petition forwarded to the SC that will in fact end in nothing but disaster for NPP is taken to the cleaners. The NPP are not only taking Ghana hostage; they are also silencing their own members. All you need to do is just clear your throat and these primitive dead end village fool soldiers will be there to cut your throat. This NPP democracy for you! The NPPians are now patting their shoulders for not going all die be die, I mean being violent. These are a bunch of lawless brutes who need to be tamed.

Why would the NPP legislators be stopped from participating in the process of vetting ministerial appointees by the party's leadership? Stopping them to do business on behalf of the nation is absolutely nonsense.
Why did the MPs went for the swearing of the legislative oath of state at the first place if they intended not to participate in the legislative business? What do they attend to parliament doing?
This is direct insult to some of us who have voted you and we did not voted for you to only announce your names and be paid with the tax man's money but to act on our behalf.
We understand the party and majority Ghanaians do not agree with the election results of the Executive and that's why we are at the Supreme Court of the land.
Meanwhile, this nation we all call home must be govern and can be govern competently by people appointed and well vetted by both parties in the legislative house.
Boycotting the vetting is outrageously nonsense, primitively undemocratic and that would not help us either in our court case.
Our best bet is to fully participate in the House business whilst we allow the Supreme Court and the justice system of the land look into our grievances.
NPP, must exhibit strong maturity of democratic practices on principles and politically act much more matured.

What the N P P mps do not know is that they lose their political identity once they enter parliament that is why we have majority & minority which may include mps from other parties. I think when they begin to reason from this angle most of these problems could be solved. For instance u don't expect a minister to wear party colors to office b'cos he's to serve the nation and not the party. Note: we have executive, legislature, judiciary
. All these arms of govt are supposed to be neutral b'cos they depend on the public purse. Npp pls reason up

By boycotting the parliamentary vetting committee which is mandated to vet ministerial nominees, including their threat to be selective in parliamentary matters, it has become clear to all of us that the NPP has not got the interest of Ghana at heart. So being the case, their paymaster (the govt.) should stop paying their salaries because they refuse to work. In fact, they should be suspended indefinitely. The NDC must find ways to govern the country for the four years it has been voted to rule. After four years the government should call general election as normal and, if the NPP loses again or, refuse to take part either, in the elections or, in the parliamentary business afterwards, the no-work-no-pay policy should continue until they come back to their senses and do what they are voted to parliament for.

Personally, I think our MP's descision to boycot the vetting of Ministers is an act of convenience rather than logic. We are quick to take adhoc descisions forgeting about its future implications.
1. What will happen if Nana Akufo Addo is declared President of Ghana by the SC and subsequently go ahead to nominate his Ministers whiles we still have the NDC majority in Parliament? Have we also thought of a possible boycot or rejection of the nominees by the NDC majority?
2 Will our MP's have the moral ground to question the actions/work of these Ministers?
3 If NEC saw Kufuor as a state asset and allowed him to attend the Presidents investiture, does that not compromise the stance of our legislators? Doesnt this not amount to double stands?
Maybe I need some education, because I am as confused as everyone else.

Chief Obosu
