A leading member of the NPP is asking the party to direct its energies towards winning the 2016 elections and stop what he referred to as “self promotional gimmicks.”
Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby is appalled by the party’s decision not to take part in the two bye- elections in Akatsi and Buem, saying the reasons they cited were “illogical and nonsensical.”
In an open letter copied to Myjoyonline.com, the NPP founding member dared the NPP members to completely boycott all activities in Parliament if they want to be taken serious.
The following is the full letter;
THE NPP MUST SQUARE THE CIRCLE OR CUT OUT THE COMIC TRAGEDY
The NPP is boycotting Parliamentary bye-elections because it is in dispute with the EC.
Why not extend this illogical and nonsensical act by asking all the Party’s MPs in all of the constituencies affected by the 4700 polling stations cited in the Supreme Court Petition to step aside from Parliament pending the determination of the case
Whilst we are at it, let the NPP in Parliament abandon the farce of taking part in the vetting of Ministers nominated by the President whose election they do not recognise, again until such time as the Supreme Court pronounces in the petition.
Also, since it is only President Mahama who can commit the public funds of Ghana, let the NPP in Parliament suspend its participation in Parliament since that body’s agenda is only to debate and approve policies and programmes which impose a charge on the Public purse of Ghana.
Better still, as it is the same EC which conducted the elections in the constituencies in which the NPP won Parliamentary seats, the Party must reject those results as well and ASK ITS MPS TO BOYCOTT PARLIAMENT TOTALLY UNTIL THE SUPREME COURT DETERMINES THE SUIT. Otherwise, the NPP will show itself up as only accepting the EC’s conduct as fair and without malice where the NPP is victorious
Unless the NPP’s leadership carries through with all of the foregoing, some of us who have as much roots in the formation of the NPP and its antecedent parties will not comprehend the logic or sense in the boycott of the bye-elections.
Our Party deserves better. Dr. J. B. Danquah deserves better. Dr. Kofi A. Busia deserves better. President Edward Akufo-Addo deserves better. Obetsebi Lamptey deserves better. President J. A. Kufuor deserves better . Victor Owusu deserves better.
The 2016 General Elections is less than four years ago. The NPP must be spending its energies getting ready to contest and this time SECURES THE VICTORY that the overwhelming majority of Ghanaians will vote for. An essential pre-requisite for convincing the majority of Ghanaians (not just the “yente gyae fanatics”) is to demonstrate a commitment to principled democratic conduct and not knee jerk self-promotional gimmicks.

A meeting today by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to deliberate on the vetting of ministers-designate by President Mahama ended inconclusively, Deputy Minority Leader in Parliament Dominic Nitiwul has confirmed.
Six nominees are expected to appear before the Appointment Committee of Parliament for vetting on Thursday, but it is becoming clear that the NPP Minority, whose party is challenging the 2012 presidential election results in court, may not participate in the event.
Dominic Nitiwul told Joy FM’s Top Story on Monday that the National Executive Council, Minority Leadership in Parliament and Minority members on the Appointment Committee met on Monday to deliberate on the issue but did not come to any conclusion.
“The meeting was inconclusive,” he said the party had wanted to “resolve that particular matter, but unfortunately we couldn’t resolve it”.
He said a second meeting has been scheduled for tomorrow around 1pm to hopefully take “a firm decision whether to participate or not to participate”.
Mr Nitiwul indicated that at the meeting some members “expressed other ways of going about it” other than boycotting the process.
“The National Executive Council was very clear that we will take the issues case by case – the vetting of the ministers, state of the nation address by the president, budget and any other thing that will come from the president and his ministers - and each of the cases, the party leadership will sit with the Minority in Parliament to decide the way forward.”
He explained that some decisions of the President like budget and contract would stay irrespective of the Supreme Court’s ruling on the NPP’s petition, while decisions like ministerial appointment will not.
However, Mr Nitiwul insisted “I don’t think the intention of the NPP is to bring the work of government to a halt.”
Asked whether the NPP is also taking the constituents into consideration, the Deputy Minority Leader maintained that the party “will not take any decision that would not be in the interest of the constituency,” insisting anything by the government would be scrutinized carefully.
Meanwhile, a senior fellow at the Institute for Democratic Governance, Kwesi Jonah said should the NPP carry through their threat to boycott the vetting, it would be “a great disservice not to the nation but the NPP as a political party”.
He cautioned that since the party is contesting the results in court, they should avoid any action that could dent Ghana’s democracy.
He stated that the MPs would have no choice but to "work with the same ministers they have refused to vet", should they fail to participate in their vetting, and yet the Supreme Court rules that Mahama is the duly elected president.
“They should help us as a nation to help vet the ministers properly...If they refuse to participate in this process and other processes I will find it very hard to believe how you can go to Parliament and swear that I am a Member of Parliament and I will discharge my duties, and then at the same time refuse to take part in a very, very important process that will help all of us as a nation.”

NPP stands for economic freedom and personal liberties. NDC will fail Ghana for the reason that as a party they believe in redistribution of wealth. NPP builds wealth and better's the individual.

They decided to try one last time for the son they always wanted.
The wife got pregnant and delivered a healthy baby boy.
The joyful father rushed to the nursery to see his new son.
He was horrified at the ugliest child he had ever seen.
He told his wife: "There's no way I can be the father of this baby. Look at the two beautiful daughters I fathered! Have you been fooling around behind my back?"
The wife smiled sweetly and replied, "Not this time!"

You don't need the brains & creativity of a chess player to figure out who are behind these ALAN KYEREMATENG posters.
This is the handiwork of the collection of the most evil animals God ever created - the NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC).
These evil creatures whose extinction every single patriotic Ghanaian must seek are the reason why Ghana finds itself stuck in medieval times even though the rest of the civilized world are in the 21st century.
These are a group who mean nothing good not only for the NPP but for Ghana and Ghanaians as a whole. They are simply EVIL.
THEY STEAL THE COUNTRY'S MONEY (MILLIONS OF IT, IF NOT BILLIONS), THEN THEY BRIBE A GOD-FORSAKEN ALCOHOLIC & CHAIN SMOKER CALLED AFARI GYAN TO HELP THEM RIG THE 2012 ELECTIONS AND THEN GO ON TO DESTROY THE FABRIC OF OUR SOCIETY. If God was visible, John Mahama and his evil crooks would have attempted to bribe him.
But God is righteous and the EVIL THAT NDC REPRESENTS WILL BE DEFEATED AND THE RIGHTFUL PRESIDENT THAT GHANA DESERVES INSTALLED - ALAN GIMMIC OR NOT.

Ghanaians understand priverbs and the mounted posters with NPP aspirant, Kyerematen suggests his party should accept defeat and start with future plans to winning. Only drugged politicians will see posted signs as shocking. Get over it NPP and move on. Bravo for Kyerematen for the brave move. I may vote for you if the stubbon flag-bearing nominating committee stop snoffing their stuff and clear their brains to be sober in 2016. Investigating who mounted the posters would not yield any fruitful answers than dividing the party and annoying the public. The court battle will not lead the party anywhere but buy more time for the elected President to appoint his Cabinet and ready for governing.

The following is the full letter;
Dr Charles Wereko-Brobby
Founding Member, NPP /
Victor Owusu’s nephew

The NPP appears to be deeply split between the pro-Kyerematen, Kuffuor faction and the Akufo-Addo camp.
It does appear that there is growing impatience within the party that it has been hijacked for selfish personal interests and ambition. There is also a feeling that the party is wasting time pursuing the electoral petition when it should be looking seriously at why it lost the last two elections, and only managed to win in 2 regions.
The disaffection also stems from the realisation that the longer the court case drags on, the less time it leaves to examine carefully the electoral failures of the party in 2008 and 2012, learn its lessons and prepare towards 2016. People are also concerned about how the party's antagonism towards gov't, the EC, the Peace Council, sections of the media, the President of the Africa Union, some judges of the Supreme Court, and even ex-president Kufuor is losing it support among floating voters.
And this would spell electoral doom in 2016.
