Thank you. This is what i have in minde. But you was fast to commend on this issue. This is exactly the problem Ghana is facing the whole time. No brain is working for the masses. Everyone work for his own pocket. The change of votes must be of big help to create changes for our country. Rawlings, Kuffour, Mills and Mahama are all miserable for this country. We shall vote for NPD, CPP or PPP to come and show what they can.
Unfortunately, the decision makers are Ghananians in Ghana. They vote for their death and they are dying. No one to be blame!!!
NDC is most criminal party ever.

Never properly analysing a problem is our bane in the country. People just jump to simplistic ideas. Let's be realistic: How many roads can be dualised? Certainly not many.
I know that training, providing dual lane roads, appealing to people's conscience etc all help. But above all, if enforcement were effective, all the contributors to our traffic problems would be reduced to the barest minimum.
If we had a credible Road Safety Commission to address the issue properly and mobilise all the pressure from all angles on the police to be up to their enforcement duties instead of turning it into an extortion exercise, we would all be safer.
Our bane as a people is that we don't hold officials to task for not doing their work properly. We prefer to use any issue for politics. And above all: FA MA NYAME!!! - and culprit is free to commit more heinous crimes next time!!!!!

What is so simplistic about insisting that all major roads in Ghana be dual carriagewy? No amount of training or enforcement will prevent cars speeding in opposite directions on the same road without any barrier separating them from running head-on onto each other. It is that simple.
Ghana has the resources to have all major highways be dual carriageways, as exits in most developed countries. But that can be done only if our leaders think it is a top priority, and stop stealing the country's money for their selfish personal use.

This's how I would have written the story; Twenty-four people have been confirmed dead in an accident that occured on the Tamale-Buipe road in the Northern Region on Monday morning. The twenty-four including 23 other people in a Mercedes- Benz sprinter vehicle with registration number AS8931-12 were traveling to Tamale from Kumasi and the other vehicle a Kia truck with registration number AS8833-11 which was travelling to Buipe market from Tamale collided head-on. DSP Owusu, who confirmed the story to the Joy FM's Super Morning Show on Monday, said there was a head-on collision between the Kia truck which was carrying cattle and the Mercedes- Benz Sprinter vehicle. Two people who sustained serious injuries were rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, period. Folks, you be the judges. Isn't the story simpler, easier to read and more understandable this way? You go figure that out about our writers in Ghana!

Fatal accidents on our road have become a daily occurrence on our roads. The Road Highway Authority, DVLA and DLA should find a lasting way to arrest the situation. There were many reasons for the accidents:
1. Drivers have not been properly trained.
2. Most of the so-called drivers have not got licence or their licences not in date.
3. Too much over speeding by drivers.
4. Detraction of drivers from devices such as mobile phones, music/gadgets, etc. and unnecessary conversation by drivers.
5. Lack of concentration.
6. Lack of maintenance of vehicles.
7. Lack of maintenance of roads.
8. Lack of visibility on roads.
9. Too much winding roads.
10. Drivers' tiredness and bad eye sights.
11. Drivers' ego-trip activities and indecision.
12. Hampering road side trees and other obstructions on the roads.
The list is a tall order, but it's all bogged down to the disposition of the drivers to drive properly.

Some people talk about dual carriage ways on Ghana roads which the NDC will tell you there is no money for it and yet will give millions to someone who did nothing for the nation and still proud about it. These accidents are not just mere accidents because these roads have been in existence since the world was created yet we did not have such accidents as we are having now. Something needs to be done SPIRITUALLY about it to stop the carnage on the roads. Not only accidents but since the beginning of the year I have lost count of fire hazards stretching from Accra to Kumasi to other parts of the country yet to be reported. As pathetic as it is to see souls perishing, I see it more of a spiritual point of view than just the construction of dual carriage way. I hope some one is reading this.
