A private, anxious to secure leave of absence, sought his captain with a most convincing tale about a sick wife breaking her heart for his absence. The officer, familiar with the soldier's ways, replied:
"I am afraid you are not telling the truth. I have just received a letter from your wife urging me not to let you come home because you get drunk, break the furniture, and mistreat her shamefully."
The private saluted and started to leave the room. He paused at the door, asking: "Sor, may I speak to you, not as an officer, but as mon to mon?"
"Yes; what is it?"
"Well, sor, what I'm after sayin' is this," approaching the captain and lowering his voice. "You and I are two of the most iligant liars the Lord ever made. I'm not married at all."
The two Political Party are liars and nobody knows who is telling the truth.
If so the NPP and NDC foot soldiers should be banned from going to the Supreme court.

I hate these generalisations. Why can't people have the balls to state that it is not all the politicians who are causing all the trouble. We all know it is only Nana Addo who feels he must win at all costs using all-die-be-die tactics.
Have we forgotten how Nana Coomson (owner of Chronicle newspaper) warned us how Nana is so dangerous that he cannot easy with him as president of Ghana? For the benefit of those who did not read the original publication and to refresh the minds of those who read it, I reproduce below the original text unedited:
The Chronicle’s Nana Kofi Koomson stunned many in the country when he took an uncompromising stand in 2008 and without mincing words announced that he would never feel comfortable in the event Mr. Akuffo Addo became Ghana’s president.
Mr. Koomson’s singularly act in rejecting, denouncing and renouncing the defeated 2008 NPP presidential candidate like the big bang about to befall Ghanaians underscores the popular aphorism that the frog which emerges from the waters to announce the drowning of a crocodile must be taken with all seriousness. After all, the two men had been in the UP/NPP trenches and had known each other from inside-out for a considerable period of time when they plotted against the PNDC/NDC, culminating in their senseless Kume Preko Demonstrations in the 1990s.
Albeit their long time friendship and Mr. Koomson’s declaration that he had been in association with Mr. Addo for a number of years, he mustered and marshaled the courage to dissuade Ghanaians from voting for his once bosom friend. In a profound consternation among Ghanaians when Mr. Koomson was washing his friend’s dirty linen in public, one could sense and feel the awe, the anguish, the nightmare and the utmost concern vibrating in Mr. Koomson’s voice during a radio interview in which he stated categorically that the defeated candidate, Mr. Akuffo Addo is really an unqualified character who should never be allowed near the presidency. He reinforced his stance by declaring that he could never sleep a wink in the unlikely event of Mr. Addo Dankwa-Akuffo Addo becoming president of Nkrumah’s Ghana.
In the nutshell, Mr. Koomson was telling Ghanaians and the whole world that indeed Mr. Akuffo Addo had the potential of plunging the country into unimaginable consequences due to his vindictiveness, temperamental, arrogance, womanizing, lack of coordination and organization and penchant for anything that appears in skirt.
And like a bad omen about to befall a generation, the wikileaks’ revelations about Akuffo Addo have re-echoed and confirmed Kofi Koomson’s assertion without a shred of doubt.
While complimenting Mr. Koomson for the stance he took against the NPP candidate in order to help preserve the sanctity, unity and peace in Ghana, we must hasten to add that the former suffered a barrage of embarrassment and humiliation at the hands of Akuffo Addo and his NPP hit squad.
By attempting to avoid a theory called the Groupthink Mentality (a hallmark of NPP) postulated by psychologist Irving Irving L. Janis in 1971 whereby Mr. Koomson played the devil’s advocate on behalf of Ghanaians, Mr. Akuffo Addo and his thugs descended heavily on him and employed all communists’ tactics imaginable against him in his quest to enter into Ghana’s august house.
As a payback for voicing his concern over Akuffo Addo’s unfitness to lead the country, thus calling on the electorates to jettison him, a huge impediment was placed in Mr. Koomson’s way by his own party-NPP. And going by a symptom of the Groupthink theory which dilates on Unanimity (members of a groupthink share an illusion of unanimity within the group concerning almost all judgments expressed by members who speak in favor of the majority view), the NPP declared en masse that Kofi Koomson be debarred from contesting one of the parliamentary slots in the Western Region. He was, at a point in time, threatened with a court action by Ghana’s apostles of democracy for adopting the party’s insignias in his campaign. God knows what became of Mr. Koomson’s parliamentary ambitions.
Even though we cannot pinpoint with certainty as to what happened to Mr. Koomson’s parliamentary ambitions, we know for sure that Akuffo Addo was humiliated at the polls in 2008, thus nipping his unbridled ambitions in the bud for four years. We also know for sure that the victory of the NDC in the 2008 polls ensured Kofi Koomson’s sound sleep and the protection of his newspaper empire for four years. And oh, Thank God Almighty Ghana was salvaged from the hands of a warmonger, a womanizer and a drug addict whose mornings are heralded by thick clouds comparable to smoke emitting from a seventy year old locomotive engine.
Nana Kofi Koomson and discerning Ghanaians are reassured once again that even though the NPP is deep seated in the Groupthink theory of Rationalization, whereby members ignore warnings or develop rationalizations to discount the warnings and negative feedback as pertains to Mr. Akuffo Addo’s infamous “wee” Akanfuor and all-die-be-die speech, the NDC will thrash the NPP in the 2012 elections to give them another four year sound sleep as well as protecting their businesses, except the cocaine ones, of course. Indeed, Nana Koomson is assured beyond any reasonable doubt that Ghana will never die and that Akuffo Addo will be retired from politics and consigned to run a corner store at Kyebi, come 2013.

It is said that "If two elephants fight it is the grass that suffers". This is a true saying. It sad to see the two main political parties in Ghana behaving the same way as two elephants fighting each other every day. This situation if not changed is driving the nation towards unwanted disaster. Prayer alone can't bring peace to the country, it is us understanding that even though we are all different people from different backgrounds we are still one people belonging to one nation. Whether we classify ourselves as politicians with either an umbrella symbol or an elephant symbol we are still one. That is how God made us to be. We are unique people blessed by God and many wish they are like us and have what we have. We should all be thankful to God for making us who we are and strive hard to work together as a nation not divided so we can build our beloved country in unity and in love. Despite our differences and the challenges that confront us daily, by God's grace we shall overcome one day if we discoverer this simple truth. But if we preach peace and do the opposite then we become hypocrites and don't deserve the peace of God we are all longing and praying for. Politicians, please don't violate God's divine principles and ruin our beautiful nation for the bible says "except the Lord build the house they labour in vain them that builds it". If you don't harken to the voice of the Lord and do his will then his wrath will certainly visit us for he remains the same merciful God and the same God of consuming fire. If you don't repent and ask for his forgiveness and instead allow your actions and deeds to bring disaster to fall upon the land, the next generation and those still unborn will never ever forgive us. Let us again strive to leave a legacy behind and God will bless us and the future generation to come. May God's divine protection continue to rest upon Ghana our beloved nation.

I may be wrong but where did democracy build a nation? Most developed nation, from their formation, adopted some draconian measure to get some firm establishment before resorting to democracy. Take for instance the US. Go through the history is the United States and tell me if they were democratic initially. They engaged in slavery and whatever it takes to lay a solid foundation. Even women, who are now the "untouchables", have no say in the initial stage. They cannot even vote let alone file for a divorce. Look at black people and how they were treated.
After the country was well established, it was then that some "civil rights" were loosened even it wasn't easy in the initial stages.
Look at China. It is a nation with some worse human rights record yet, most of the developed nations, go to them for loans. Why? The Chinese authorities have sensed that they have to lay a solid foundation for the nation else, if they venture into that democracy nonsense, they will go nowhere. How many time have they warned the US, Europe etc to shut up concerning what they termed as "internal business"?
Go back to history and tell me how the ancient Egyptians built the Pyramids. They use slave labor or whatever and till date, archeologist have no clue as to how they put those huge buildings in their land.
Africans should have adopted the same path where a leader, with vision, will arrest the bull by the horn and force the citizens to work hard by laying some basic principles, morals etc as a corner stone.
Gaddafi was such a leader but he was demonized by the powers that be. Those who know Libya, will testify that the system he set up for his nation was good but outsiders, who are clueless, labeled him a dictator and in the end, he was killed like a toad. History will judge him as good leader.
Ghana stands to lose because we have embraced a system of government that is not working for the average citizen. Those voted into power are the winners and they careless about the voters. Imagine what the nation is going through currently. The Supreme Court Judges are scared stiff because some of their colleagues paid for their lives some years ago when the decision they gave about a specific case, led to their untimely death.
Look at how some members of the ruling party and the opposition are behaving. It is the result of a poor system of government we have adopted. I know I will ruffled some feathers but truth is only one. Are we that democratic or we vote for some thieves to come and ply their trade?
