THIS IS SURELY THE INGREDIENT FOR THIS SORRY ASS CONCOCTION
WE NEED RAPID DEVELOPMNT!
THERE R SO MANY REAL ISSUES ON THE GROUND IN GH. THE NUMBER 1 ON THE LIST SHOULD BE THE ISSUE OF DEVELOPING OUR CITIES.
MAKING SURE WE HAVE CROSS STREETS, PLANNED REGIONAL CAPITALS WITH STREET NAMES, NUMBERED BUILDINGS, PROPERLY DEMARCATED STREETS ETC,
U KNOW THE BASIC. THEN WE WORK ON OUR COMPLEX ELECTRICAL DRAINAGE SYSTEMS. THESE ELEMENTS ARE NOT PRESENT, YET WE WANT TO BAN THE
IMPORTATION OF USED APPLIANCES? LOL.....IF WE WANT MORE INVESTMENT, WE SHOULD RADICALLY TACKLE OUR URBANIZATION PROBLEM
LETS USE SOUTH AFRICA AS A PRIME EXMAPLE, A YARDSTICK. PERHAPS MAKE OURS EVEN BETTER!
OUR AIRPORTS ARE A SIGHT FOR SORE EYES!
AFTER 5 YRS, WE MUST BE ASHAMED. WE CAN DO MUCH MUCH BETTER!
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Reading an article makes someone indeed sad. Felling of trees just cos they have outgrown Street lights? How, sorry to say, MAD must a person be to chose the dead metal of a street light over a living and life spending organism like a tree? And then to add that the Landscaping now is even better...........OMG!!
If a life spending tree itself is not sick, then no matter how outgrown it has a street light, what you then do is relocation the street light, but not killing a life spending tree.

The Parks And Gardens must be involved next time you plant trees, there are trees for every purpose so they are trees (avenue trees) planted along the road sides and they blend with streets lights to beautify the airport edifice. You failed to engage the experts for advice and now you are giving this flimsy excuse.
Without trees you would have been dead by now even you airport be hit with sand storm every time.Compared to the airports in the SAHARA. We all know the airport and these trees are not obstructing any safety issue. You are a liar!!!

I recently visited Ghana with some foreign friends and they wanted to taste our beautiful Ghanaian dishes. What really surprised me was the filth i saw in some of the local restaurants(chop bars) we visited. Some of these chop bars were even infested with cockroaches. What i want to know is, do we have inspection officers for our food industry. This is is major area of our tourism since these foreigners are interested in eating at our local chop bars instead of the usual 'fried rice and chicken' at the major hotels and restaurants. i call on the Ghana EPA and other agencies to sit up on this issue!

GACL should not seek to justify their action. What they have done is illogical and unacceptable. If due consideration were given to the thought that went into the planting of the trees a way could have been sought to provide better illumination without destroying the trees. Why are we human beings so quick to destroy our environment instead of trying to protect or preserve it. This is a very shameful act which must be condemned by all environmentally friendly people.

Couldn't they have carefully prunned the trees? I saw the trees cut down and almost cried!! Did they need to cut down all these trees. A careful prunning would have ensured that the lights worked efficiently and that security was enhanced. There was no need to cut all of them down.Whoever authorised them must be sacked. This is a reckless, stupid, knee-jerk reaction and a silly statement issued to justify their folly.

GACL this is the most ridiculous reason I ever heard for cutting down trees that have stood for years and given the gateway to our country beauty, shade and character all these years. Who is reponsible for this? Couldn't these trees have been pruned? STOP CUTTING OUR TREES!! Enough is enough! This is NO facelift. Stop turning our city into an ugly urban desert. Someone must lose their job over this and must be made to plant 10 trees for every single tree that has been needlessly felled!!
