  Look! stop this kind of Jungle analysis. We know Vodafone , they are thieves Iam paying 450,000 gh cedis for my fixed broadband service.And just 2 month before X'mas the price was increase to 650,000 . And now in the new year the are asking me to pay 1.2 million.
  
  Vodafone is known to be thieve even here in Europe .

  The Good thing Vodafone did was to leave certain packages uncapped. so if you really need to download stuff all month long without worrying over your bundle, then you go for these uncapped packages. No need to fight Vodafone.

  there are small countries like Estonia where 20MBPS Broadband is available for as little as $20 per month. So it should be possible for Ghana to approach such packages if we claim to be serious about developing ICT; especially given the recent huge increases in Fibre capacity, one would expect the cost of broadband to go DOWN, not UP.
  But as usual the voiceless poor in Africa get ripped off whilst suspect apologists defend the cartels even when the quality of service is so poor.
  Incidentally, we as Ghanaians already pay enough in communications and other taxes without suggesting we should make Vodafone more profitable...

  Vodafone intentionally induced its customers to purchase their service at 45ghc. it was advertised as the cheapest, fastest and best. people have paid for the service now all of a sudden, you increase the price, and reduce their bandwith. this issue about 90%-10% is rubbish. if the majority of people do not use as much, what is the problem? wont the heavy users and low users balance each other out?
  they should clear off. This monopoly should not be allowed. Are you telling me that if tomorrow T-Mobile entered the industry in ghana and had the cheapest rates, they wont also reduce their fees and enhance their service?
  this monopoly and unrestrained capitalism ought to stop.

  My friend.we call it monopoly because its only Vodafone who offer fixed broadband in Ghana. Fixed broadband is cheap and none of the other networks have that service because Vodafone have total control over all the land lines ...

Fixed broadband is cheap and none of the other networks have that service because Vodafone have total control over all the land lines.Africaonline, Zipnet and others provide wireless broadband which is expensive.Vodafone also offer wireless broadband and it is as expensive as any other wireless service.You are very ignorant because you didn't do your homework well before writing this article.The excuse Vodafone gave for capping was unreasonable.They also lied about telling us that cafes purchased low packages and were abusing it.The lowest package was 2mbps and no cafe will buy that package.30 people in a cafe cannot share 2mbps.Its likely the cafes went for the higher packages which were 200gh and offered 20mbps.Besides, if someone is abusing bandwidth, Vodafone have every right to terminate that persons bandwidth instead of letting everybody else suffer.They claimed those who wanted more should pay more but when you look at the new prices, those who were on higher package are almost paying the same package, so its now the home consumers who are suffering.If you have a bad plant in your garden do you destroy the whole garden or you put out the bad one.

  Ghana needs competition with land line internet. Vodaphone, like many other countries all ready do, need to be made to rent their lines to competitors. This is done, so that a mass of lines are not put into place without cause.
  It also sounds like Bernard has a vested interest in Vodaphone by the tones of his article.
  The truth of the matter is, Vodaphone is a money hungry corporate giant, that uses it business relationship with the Ghana government to get away with sleazy maneuvers as their latest rip off of the Ghana poor. Of all the other internet companies, not one, have I heard the complaints that are aired about Vodaphone.
