They lured you to vote for them because of allowance. Here we are now without the allowance and jobs. Liars and thieves.

You voted against Mahama saying you were looking for allowance, right? We told you about all these but you didn't listen.

One would think that with free SS and dual track, the demand for teachers will increase and yet the stories persist of graduates of even UCC languishing as dependents 3-4 years after their National Service. Stories of certified professional teachers paying bribes to get hired circulate!
So I have a few questions for our policy makers:
There are countries on every single continent with acute shortages of professional teachers - including the US, Canada, Caribbean countries and some right here in Africa. Why isn’t the government exploring contract teacher options like we did with nurses?
Where the receiving governments require a masters degree, Ghana has the capacity to meet that requirement.
This will be a source hard currency, relieve the financial burden of graduates/providers and on return bring in new vigor into the educational sector.
With so many universities, we are going to produce graduates. Who is thinking through this? Are the institutions producing graduates the economy needs? Is the government or our institutes/think tanks examining the tertiary institutions for quality, relevance and areas of synergy?
We can’t have a system where hundreds of thousands graduate from Senior High Schools, tens of thousands borrow to get tertiary education only to graduate with no prospects for gainful employment.
Meanwhile we continue to outsource jobs to foreign contractors without even seconding Ghanaian engineers as project workers/managers/supervisors.
What is going on?
