Hello Fellow Ghanaians, Ghana's Economic problems were caused by excessive borrowing and spending during the 2020 elections year NOT Corvid 19 and Russian/Ukraine war. I don't want to hear again anything about corvid 19 and Russian/Ukraine war again. NDC and other CSOs have been saying this for upteenth times but NPP said no.

Now that they are overwhelmingly convinced that the incumbent NPP is opposition bound due to the catastrophic mismanagement of the nation's scarce resources; evidence of which abound in the unprecedented deterioration in living conditions of Ghanaians, they have started singing different tune. But the government admits that our expenditures shot up significantly in 2020. And the reason is obviously the COVID. From contact tracing to tax waivers, to PPEs to hospitals and schools, to free water and electricity, to treatments for COVID patients, to vaccines, to free hotel to some arriving from abroad,etc. These weren't planned expenses.
Even though the data will show that there's a huge expenses in election years including 2020, the reasons for that trend are very different in the previous years from the reasons for 2020s.
