Buisnessman To The Aid Of Crippled Kids

Mampong (Ash), Aug 19, - A businessman yesterday presented One million cedis to two Primary school pupils whose legs were amputated following an accident at Abuontem, near Mampong-Ashanti, two months ago. The two, Master Anthony Kwaku Duku, 12, and his brother Master Ibrahim Babangida, 10, were watching a group of Dagombas celebrating the Fire festival by the road-side when the accident occurred. The businessman, Mr Kingsley Kwabena Kessie, Executive Director of Norsout Unique Products Limited (NUPL), has also opened a savings accounts of 40,000 cedis for them at the Mampong branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank. At the ceremony, Mr Akuoko-Frempong, Sekyere West District Chief executive also presented a cheque for One million cedis to the parents of the children on behalf of the Assembly. He thanked Mr Kessie for his gesture and called on other philanthropists to assist the children. Madam Amma Serwaah, mother of the children, thanked Mr Kessie and the District Assembly for their assistance. She said the donation and 300,000 cedis realised from an appeal launched by OTEC-FM, a Kumasi Radio Station will relieve her of some of her burden.
