NDC is the most united party in Ghana – Mahama

President John Mahama has stated the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is the most united political party in Ghana ahead of the 2016 elections.

As the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) wallow in internal strife with the general secretary Kwabena Agyepong pointing fingers at flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo and other stalwarts of sidelining him and Paul Afoko, national chairman, Mahama said the NDC must remain united.

He stressed that the 2016 elections will not be easy, but is optimistic that unity within the rank and file of the party will grant them victory.

Speaking at a mini-rally at the party’s headquarters in Accra, after presenting his nomination forms Monday, Mahama said he is confident of victory in 2016 because “the never failing God” of the NDC will speak again.

“Let’s unite for a battle ahead and Insha Allah we shall remain victorious,” Mahama told the teeming crowd. “Unity, togetherness and hard work are important ingredients to lead us to victory.”

“Together we will do everything possible, physically, materially and spiritually to lead NDC into one touch victory in 2016,” Mahama, who took over from late president John Evans Atta Mills said at the Adabraka headquarters of the party.

“Our never failing God spoke in 2012 and our never failing God will speak once again in 2016.

"What I have seen here almost three years after our victory shows the NDC still remains the most united political party. Together with one voice let us declare that we will continue the agenda for transformation.

“The people of Ghana have more confidence in us and means we are the obvious choice of the people… we’ll smile to the Flagstaff House in 2016,” Mahama stressed.
