Klutse descends on Konadu

Ex-Ghana international Willie Klutse has launched a stinging pot-shot at Maxwell Konadu following his recent criticism of local players, fuming he needs a psychologist.

The Black Stars assistant coach has come under line of fire after he questioned the mental fortitude of local players in the wake of the side’s elimination from the 2016 CHAN qualifiers.

The former Kotoko trainer passed a morale deflating comment on local players when he claimed in an interview with Accra-based Starr FM that it will be a HUGE risk to include them in the A-list Black Stars squad since they lack the psychological strength to play at the top level.

But the appraisal of the former Ghana defender has not gone down well with the Inter Allies technical director, who wasted no time in launching an onslaught.

“I think coaches like Konadu need a psychologist. Seriously! Because, his mindset about the local players is negative,” he fumed on Accra-based Starr FM

“If I don’t see anything good about you, I won’t my time on you. If you are a coach and you have seen some problem, we are talking about the national team.

“You have all the opportunity to talk to the national team management committee that I need this and that.”

Konadu’s latest comment has sparked an old-age debate about the involvement of local players in the Black Stars squad.

Critics have argued the non-availability of local players in the Black Stars makes nonsense about the quality of the Ghanaian top-flight league.
