JB would’ve served in my gov’t – Akufo-Addo

The Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party Nana Akufo-Addo has revealed that he had penciled down the late Abuakwa North MP Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu as one of the people he would have appointed into his government, should he win the November polls.

In a tribute at the burial ceremony for the murdered MP in his hometown Akyem Tafo, Nana Addo said the “industrious” Boakye Danquah would have been key in his administration.

“He was a hard working individual and we all saw it for ourselves. Very industrious and engaging. He loved his people, his party and the family. I would want to disclose to people of Abuakwa North that he was one of the key people I had intended to work with if God allows me to win the Presidency,” he stated.

The opposition lawmaker was stabbed multiple times to death at his East Legon residence in February. The police has arrested a prime suspect Daniel Asiedu. Preliminary investigations suggested that the assailants may have used a ladder to enter the MP’s room via his window to execute their plan.

Danquah served as a Deputy Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs under the erstwhile Kufuor administration. He was the Abuakwa North MP from 2000 until 2008, when he lost the seat.
