The Ghanaian is refusing to singularly take credit for his side’s performance in last Tuesday’s Uefa Champions League encounter

Ghana left-back Baba Rahman has played down his impressive showing in Chelsea’s Uefa Champions League round of 16 clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, but admits the game remains his biggest yet.

The 21-year-old lasted the entire duration as the Blues succumbed to a slim 2-1 defeat in the first leg encounter at Parc des Princes.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and substitute Edinson Cavani scored for the home side while John Obi Mikel fetched the reigning Premier League champion’s consolation.

“I wouldn’t say I was the man of the match,” Baba told his club’s official website.

“I think the whole team performed very well and if you look at some of the players, they performed to their maximum. My thinking is, the whole team defended well and played very well.

“I guess it was the biggest game I’ve played in, considering it was a Champions League game and this is my first time playing in the knockout stages, and also playing up against a tough opponent. It was my biggest occasion.”

The full-back was rated 7.6 by Whoscored.com - Chelsea’s top performer on the night.

“I felt like I did not have so much pressure on me because we have a good team,” Baba added,“and I was surrounded by good players, so it was not something too difficult for me.”

The former Augsburg man is expected to keep his starting place when Chelsea take on Manchester City in the English FA Cup on Sunday.
