Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has been hit with a fresh injury which could keep him out of action for several weeks, according to reports.

The 27-year-old suffered the sprain during his side Juventus 2-1 win over AC Milan at San Siro in Serie A on Saturday.

Asamoah attempted to go around his marker on 85th minute, ending up picking a knock on his knee. He was replaced by Patrice Evra.

The visitors took home all three points thanks to goals from Mario Mandzukic and Paul Pogba, despite Alex claiming the opener for the Rossoneri.

Asamoah, who recently returned from a lengthy injury layoff, has played seven games this season for the Old Lady, coming on as a substitute on three occasions. However, after showing glimpses of full recovery against Empoli last weekend, coach Maxi Allegri decided to hand him a start in the top-liner.

Juventus medical team will run tests on the Ghanaian on Monday to confirm the degree of his injury and subsequently prescribe recovery plans, according to reports.

Asamoah, who has been capped 66 times for Ghana and scoring four goals, last played for the team in the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
