Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah was first to join Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew to celebrate Ghana’s winning goal in 3-2 triumph over Congo Brazzaville in a friendly on Tuesday, with the two engaging in a bear hug- putting to rest the rumoured fear of a possible rift.

The Black Stars teammates appear to be back on good terms following the apparent rapport shown in the game in Brazzaville, with reports that Ayew linked up with Acquah on Monday to explain his side of the expose.

The internet was inundated last week following a leaked to alleged to have originated from the camp of Mrs Amanda Acquah, wife of Afriyie Acquah, revealing that she had a 4-year affair with the Villa recruit before marrying Afriyie.

There were fears that the expose could breed hatred among the two and distabilise the unity in the Black Stars camp, but both players embraced each other before kickoff, with Afriyie also joining Jordan to celebrate the latter’s winning goal against the Red Devils.

The two players were thrown together for the first time since the scandal with Avram Grant naming Acquah and Ayew in his line-up for the Congo friendly.
