Twenty four out of the 26 confirmed Municipal and District Chief Executives confirmed in the Eastern Region have been sworn in with a call on them not to be complacent but serve in humility to achieve expected results.

With exception of the president nominee for Yilo Krobo and Ayensuano assemblies, the rest of the nominees who were confirmed by their various assemblies were sworn in by the Regional Minister, Eric Kwakye Darfour.

The short ceremony organised at the forecourt of the residency was heavily attended by families, friends, heads of departments, NPP executives as well as wishers. The Regional Minister administered to them the oath of secrecy and allegiance as well as the official oath.

He charged them to be ingenious in tackling social issues and challenges since the position they are occupying is not a rosy one. They should also exercise decorum in their dealings and aspire to achieve their goals.

Mr. Darfour reminded them to resort to extensive consultations and effective communication and serve the public devoid of corruption.

The Krontihene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Barfour Nyantakyi Tutu Boateng congratulated them and asked them not to downplay the confidence reposed in them by the president and their various assemblies.

He further tasked them to give the needed recognition to their various traditional authorities, serve in humility and think outside the box so as to be innovative.

The MCE for Kwahu West, Yaw Owusu Addo on behalf of his colleagues, promised to work all out to achieve the aspirations of the government and move their various assemblies to a higher status by making lives better.
