The Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) on Thursday begun a two-day liquid and bar soap making workshop for sixty vulnerable local low income earners.

The workshop, which is being funded by LEKMA, is coordinated and facilitated by its Department of Social Welfare and Community Development.

Addressing the participants, Madam Genevieve Ofosu-Amaah, Municipal Unit Head, Community Development, asked residents to take advantage of the opportunities such courses offer.

She called on participants to have self belief as they seek knowledge that would make them economically self reliant.

Madam Ofosu-Armaah, however, cautioned that without hard work and discipline, they would not achieve much.

"If you fail to practice what we are teaching you, you would have wasted your time and the scarce resources of the Assembly but daring to practice what you learn, would make you resourceful, respected and beautiful."

Mrs Nadia Ofori-hene, a participant, lauded LEKMA for organising the workshop and pledged that she would teach women in her locality (Teshie Las Cala), the local Church of Pentecost Women Fellowship the soap making techniques to improve on their lot.
