The Krontihene of Amoanapraso, Nana Marfo Ahenkra has appealed for the establishment of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) Center at Amoanapraso to enable pupils from the area to write their examination in the community.

He lamented that annual final year pupils from the area had to travel to Akoase to write their BECE, which was very stressful for both parents and the children.

Nana Ahenkra said often the children had no relations at the place, but had to go and look for a place to stay and also had problems with regard to their feeding.

He therefore appealed to government and the West African Examination Council to create a center at Amoanopraso to help solve the perennial problem.

He made the appeal when the Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, Ms Mavis Ama Frimpong visited some schools in the area.

Nana Ahenkra argued that Amanopraso has schools with bigger classrooms that could be used as classrooms for the examination.

He said the area also had a police station where the examination papers could be kept.

Ms Frimpong assured the people that the government was prepared to revive the Amoanapraso Senior High School, which was established by the community.

She said the road leading to the area was under rehabilitation to motivate youth in the district to attend school there.

Ms Frimpong called on parents to support their children in school because the area has a bright future.
