Mrs Ameh, who was the Chief Administrative Assistant at the Department of Crop Science, College of Basic and Applied Sciences, of the University of Ghana (UG), Legon retired on July 31, and died on August 4 during a short illness at the Legon Hospital.

She served for many years as an Administrator/Secretary at the Finance Office of the UG.

Professor Ernest Aryeetey, Vice Chancellor of the UG, at the weekend led a high-powered delegation to her residence.

The Vice Chancellor expressed regret at the sudden death of Mrs Ameh, who he described as an exemplary lady staffer and leader.

Prof Aryeetey expressed condolences on behalf of the UG to the bereaved family as well as relatives, professional colleagues and friends.

He gave the assurance that the university would participate fully in the burial and funeral programmes of Mrs Ameh.

On behalf of the bereaved family, Mr Ameh, thanked the Vice Chancellor and his delegation for the honour done the family and for standing in solidarity with them in such a challenging time.
