Body of deceased expatriate deposited at hospital

The police have deposited the body of a white man at the Half-Assini Government Hospital morgue pending identification and collection.

The corpse was washed ashore at Ahobre Number Two, a fishing community near Half-Assini, on Tuesday April 7, 2014.

The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent John Furguson Dzineku, made this known to the GNA at Half-Assini on Thursday.

He said the deceased, who is a male of about 1.8 metres (six feet) tall and stout, is in a brownish boxer shorts, and appealed to the public who have lost a relative to contact the hospital authorities for identification

According to the District Police Commander, the body is in a state of decomposition, and will be buried within 21 days.

He said the Chief fisherman of the community, Nana Kobenla Kaya, who reported the incident to the Police said the corpse was found at dawn on Tuesday.
