Prestea Huni/Valley district gets ultra modern administration complex

The Prestea/ Huni Valley District has built an administration complex at a cost of 1,422,294.00 Ghana cedis, took two years to complete and was funded from the district’s share of the Mineral Development Fund (MDF).

The Western Regional Minister, Mr. Paul Evans Aidoo, expressed gratitude to the chief of Petepom for allocating land freely to the assembly for the project.

He appealed to all districts and municipal assemblies to render account to the public on how their internally generated funds are utilized because this would motivate people to pay their taxes.

The District Chief Executive, Mr. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, said the assembly operated from a temporary building and rented offices for its departments since its creation in 2008.

He said the new administration block was built on part of the 436-acre of land the chief donated and the remaining land would be reserved as development enclave for offices, bungalows and government projects.

Mr. Cudjoe assured mining companies and all development partners that the assembly would continue to utilize responsibly any money that comes its way as royalty or financial assistance.

The Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni/Valley, Mr. Francis Adu-Blay Koffie, said although the district is very young it is planning to establish a nursing training school in the district.
