Stakeholders must cooperate to solve Fulani herdsmen menace

The Nkawkaw Divisional Police Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, (ACP) Michael Avadetsi, has called for concerted efforts to solve the Fulani herdsmen problem.

He therefore urged chiefs, farmers, the District Assemblies and land owners in the area to cooperate to find amicable solutions to the Fulani herdsmen issues to ensure peace in the area.

ACP Avadetsi said this at a media briefing at Nkawkaw on Friday to introduce himself to the people as the newly posted Divisional Commander.

He advised the Fulani herdsmen to control their cattle and prevent them from destroying farmers’ crops, their main source of livelihood.

On the December Polls, the Divisional Commander advised leaders of the various political parties to educate their supporters to tolerate the views of their opponents.

He also advised the media, especially the electronic media, to avoid inflammatory comments and unsubstantiated allegations because the majority of people believe that what is said on their various radio stations is the truth.

ACP Avadetsi urged the youth to take their education seriously to enable them to be gainfully employed in the future.**
