Editors Forum to host African Peer Review Mechanism Governing Council

The Editors’ Forum, Ghana (EFG) will on Tuesday June 12, host a presentation by the Governing Council of the National African Peer Review Mechanism at the International Press Centre in Accra.

A statement issued in Accra on Thursday by Ms Ajoa Yeboah-Afari, EFG Chairperson, said Reverend Prof. S.K. Adjepong, Chairman of the Council, would be the lead speaker on the topic “Prospects and Challenges of Implementing the APRM in Ghana”.

The African Peer Review Mechanism is a self-monitoring tool adopted by African Union Member States within the framework of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).

Ghana holds the proud record of being the first country to be reviewed, which was in January, 2006.

The statement said editors, news editors, political desk reporters, political features writers, Morning Show hosts, political commentators and other political programme heads were especially invited.

The EFG is a group of editors, senior journalists and media educators and it is affiliated to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).**
