Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira assembly exceeds revenue target

Twifo Praso(C/R) Dec. 23, GNA - The Twifo –Hemang-Lower –Denkyira District Assembly has exceeded its revenue target for this year.

The assembly collected GHc393, 370.20 out of the projected GHc369, 766.00 for the year 2011 as at the end of November 2011.

Mr Joseph Foster Andoh, District Chief Executive, who announced this at the general meeting of the assembly at Twifo Praso on Thursday, commended the assembly for the achievement.

He said the District Mutual Health Insurance Scheme has so far paid GHc926, 505.45 to health facilities in respect of 97,915 clients.

Mr Andoh urged the assembly members to educate the people on the importance of the health insurance to their health and wellbeing.

He said: “We have worked well this year as a district. We had our fare share of the national cake in the spirit of the Better Ghana Agenda”.

Mr Andoh said Government has build school blocks, repaired roads, sunk boreholes, supplied electricity and expanded the School Feeding Programme and created more modules for the National Youth Employment, and created employment for the youth and supplied school uniforms and exercise books to school children free of charge.

Mr Knight Kweku Acquah, Assembly Member for Esikafoambatem /Praso Electoral Area, was elected Presiding Member of the assembly.

He polled 46 votes out of 64 votes cast in the election conducted by the District Electoral Office.
