Jukwa gets borehole

Jukwa (C/R), Aug.7, GNA - The AME Zion Church, with support from an Accra based Non Governmental Organization (NGO), 93Operation Blessing", has sunk two boreholes for two communities in the Central Region, to help solve the perennial water problems facing the area.

The projects, estimated at GH¢10,000.00, were commissioned by Reverend Wilberforce Wireko, Presiding Member of the Cape Coast AME Zion Church, for Jukwa and Abura Dunkwa, in the Twifo-Hemang-Lower Denkyira and Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese districts, of the Central Region respectively.

He dedicated the facilities to God and appealed to the beneficiary communities to take good care of the projects to prolong its lifespan.

Mr Yaw Asiedu, an opinion leader of the Jukwa town described the provision of the borehole as a 93divine intervention" and expressed gratitude to the NGO for the gesture and appealed to the Church to provide two more boreholes to ensure adequate water supply for the whole township.

The Technical Officer of the Disease Control Unit of the Ghana Health Service said the availability of water in the town would go a long way to facilitate the operations of the maternity health care centre of the town and thanked the donors for easing their plight.

He appealed to the public to keep the surroundings of the facility clean at all times and also conserve water.
