Potable water to be extended to Amasaman

Amasaman (G/W), May 24, GNA - K.Adu Construction and Plumbing Works is mobilising the people of Amasaman and surrounding areas to contribute mon ey for the extension of potable water to the area. Mr Kwaku Adu Boateng, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company, sa id the first phase of the project was estimated to cost GH¢239,254.00. He announced this at a meeting with the Chiefs, Assembly Members and s ome Opinion Leaders on Saturday. He said the first phase of the project woul d begin from Amasaman through Abehenease and Obeyeyie to Achiaman. Mr Boateng said each household would contribute GH¢50.00 to support the project and appealed to philanthropists and nongovernmental organisations to assist the Company to complete the project in time to ameliorate the suffering of the people in the area.

Mr Ebenezer Nii Armah Tackie, Ga West Municipal Chief Executive, commended the Company for its assistance and called on other nongovernmen tal organisations to also come to the aid of the communities to overcome some of their problems. He said since water was very important to both humans and animals th e Assembly would do all it could within its means to help in providing pota ble water in the Municipality as a way of reducing waterborne diseases. Mr Ernest Atuquaye Armah, the Member of Parliament for Amasaman-Trob u Constituency, promised to use some of his MP's Common Fund and in additio n solicit sponsors to support the Company to complete the water project. Nii Amasah Oseiku, Chief of Amasaman and Nii Tetteh Okpe, Chief of Amamoley who jointly chaired the function appealed to the people to pay their contributions in time for the early completion of the project. 24 May 10
