Amamole Chief Cries for Infrstructure

Nii Tetey Okpe II, Chief of Amomole in the Ga West Municipal Assembly has appealed to government to come to the Assembly's aid so as to rehabilitate Amomole Methodist School and the road linking it to Asofan which has been completely cut-out following heavy rains.

According to Nii Okpe II, as a result of persistent heavy rains, a bridge on road linking Amomole to Asofaan had been washed away since last year. He said the situation has rendered Amomole a sort of an island and therefore called on the Ga West Municipal Assembly and the central government to promptly help refurbish the road that is in a deplorable state.

Speaking to THE SUN at his palace at Amomole at the weekend Nii Okpe II also appealed to the government to help relocate the local Methodist Primary School that has out-lived it usefulness due to massive floods that continue to hit the school during rainy seasons yearly.

He said whenever rains come bucketing, the school has to close down due to flooding. He said because of the past experiences it has become the habit of some school kids to stay away from the school whenever it rains. He informed that if the school is not relocated it will affect the total output of the kids and therefore appealed to government to help salvage the school from collapse.

Nii Okpe II challenged parents to take active interest and invest in their wards’ education and cut-down huge expenditure on funerals, out-dooring and other social amusements.

“If this nation will be able to meet global challenges it all depends on the kind of education and good foundation our children will obtain today,” he said. He called on the youth to be mindful of the harmful effects of drug abuse and stay away from it.

He also appealed to the youth who could not continue their education to the higher level not to give up but make good use of any trade they have enrolled to pursue.

Nii Okpe II warned those who were harassing estate developers in the name of land guards to refrain from their nefarious operations.
