MP inaugurates electricity in four communities

Gomoa Akropong, May 7, GNA - The Member of Parliament for Gomoa West, Mr. Francis Arthur, has inaugurated an electricity project for Appia-Krom Debiso, Akropong, Dankwa and Achiase. Speaking at the function at Gomoa Akropong Mr. Arthur appealed to citizens of these communities staying in urban centres to return home to use the facility to establish economic ventures to improve the standard of living of the people. He said electricity was being provided for the areas to curb the rural urban drift and appealed to them to use it to establish rural and cottage industries to enhance economic activities in the area. He advised school pupils to use the electricity to study hard to pass their examinations.

Mr. Arthur expressed concern about the upsurge in indiscipline and called on the youth to use their exuberance to promote development and not to be involved in anti-social activities. He appealed to the people to exercise restrain and bear with the government to settle down in the face of the world-wide financial crunch. Mr Arthur said with the nomination of District Chief executives by President John Atta Mills, the stage was now set for the economic take-off of the districts and urged the people to support the government for sustained development of the country. 07 May 09
