Dutch NGO donates school to people of Kpone-Bawaleshie

Kpone-Bawaleshie, May 3, GNA - The Prisma Group of Enschede in Holland, a Dutch NGO, today, donated a four-classroom block, valued at 17,000 Euros to the people of Kpone-Bawaleshie near Dodowa. The building, named "Elizabeth Korkor Tetteh Memorial Kindergarten School" to the memory of the late wife of Mr Benard Kyeremeh, Proprietor of St. Elizabeth School, West Legon.Mrs. Elizabeth Korkor Tetteh Kyeremeh hails from Kpone-Bawaleshie.

Mr Wim Buursen, leader of the Prisma group noted that Mr Benard Kyeremeh initiated the arrangement through his group in Holland for the construction of the school. The Proprietor of St. Elizabeth School, Mr Benard Kyeremeh called on parents to co-operate with the school authority to enable their wards to receive quality education. He said the new edifice would immortalize his late wife and urged all parents and the people of the area to maintain the building regularly.

Nene Nartey Kanor II, the 94 year-old chief of Kpone-Bawaleshie thanked the NGO for the school and urged the Kpone Traditional Council to assist the people of Kpone-Bawaleshie in her development. He appealed to the corporate bodies in the country to come to assist the town with a library. He advised parents to take advantage of the new kindergarten school and enrol their children for better education. A plaque and a statute of Madam Elizabeth Korkor Tetteh were dedicated by Rev. Benjamin Okpoti Larsey of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

Ms. Herma Liethof, President of Prisma Board of Directors provided tables and chairs for the school. In attendance were chiefs from Dodowa, Frafraha and well wishers from surrounding villages.
