Work on Ejisu Township roads to begin soon

Ejisu-Ashanti, April 30, GNA - Work would soon begin on the GH¢468,317 Ejisu Township roads being financed by the Government. The 1.93 kilometres road project expected to be completed within 12 months is being undertaken by the management of B-Molie Construction firm based in Kumasi.

Mr Osei Kyere, who announced this on behalf of the Ashanti Regional Director of Urban Roads, at a durbar in Ejisu on Tuesday, said it included Ejisu Palace-Zongo, Ejisu Roman Catholic schools - Ejisu Palace and Ejisu hotel roads. Nana Afrane Okese IV, Ejisuhene urged consultants and contractors on road projects to ensure they undertook quality work for the benefit of the people.

He expressed concern about shoddy works on some roads in the country and attributed them to poor supervision by project consultants and contractors. Nana Okese pledged the traditional council's support to the contractors to ensure the project was completed on time. Mr Kwame Kyeremanteng, Director of Ejisu Development Association (EDA) commended government for the project and suggested that it should be extended to other areas in the town.

Mr Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, Member of Parliament for Ejsiu-Juaben, urged the people to use appropriate channels of communication to resolve any differences between them and the contractors but not to attack them.

Mr Abass Bawa, the contractor, promised to undertake quality work and complete the project on schedule. 30 April 09
