Essaso appeals for social amenities

Essaso (E/R), June 18, GNA- Madam Vida Amoako, Assembly member for Essaso Electoral Area, on Tuesday appealed to the government and the West Akim Municipal Assembly to give the area its their share of the national cake, since they have been denied of social amenities for far too long. She made the appeal, when she conducted newsmen round an electrification project, which according to her had been abandoned. Farming, the major occupation of the people looks bleak, because after harvesting, they are not able to send it out, since vehicles refuse to ply the feeder road leading to the towns and villages due to the bad state of the roads. Madam Amoako was also not happy with the poor quality of teaching staff in the two schools in the area; because most qualified teachers do not accept postings to the area, due to the poor living conditions and the lack of infrastructure. She appealed to the West Akim Municipal Directorate of the Ghana Education Service to help assign more trained teachers to the two schools in the community. The assembly member also appealed to the Ministry of Health as a matter of urgency, to assist the communities of Kumikrom, Abamkrom, Budu, Amanfrom, and Boyabo with a hospital.
