NVTI organises forum for vocation students

Koforidua, Jan. 21, GNA- The Eastern Regional Co-ordinator of the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI), Mr Samuel Kwasi Ofosu had advised technical students to study hard and hold themselves ready for the country in 2015-2020 when the c ountry was expected to reach the middle income economic status.

He explained that, the success of the country in achieving the middle income status and developing beyond that stage to a large extent, would depend on the level of technical skills of the youth and their numbers that would be available for the economy.

Mr. Ofosu gave the advice when he met with the students of the Normal Technical Institute to educate them on the various certificates offered by the NVTI and how the students could benefit from the examinations of the institute at Koforidua.

He said the examinations and certificates offered by NVTI are backed by an Act of Parliament and are recognized internationally. Mr Ofosu said NVTI does not conduct examinations in vocational courses only, but also conduct examinations in agriculture, computer science and secretariat courses.

The Principal of Normal Technical Institute, Mr Albert Freeman Aikins urged the students to use their free time for extra curriculum activities that could give them the opportunity to acquire more knowledge to enhance their education.
