Zabzugu High School gets new girls' dormitory

Zabzugu (N/R), March 19, GNA- A new girls' dormitory was on Thursday handed over to the school authorities of the Zabzugu Senior High School in the Zabzugu District. The facility, which was funded by the GetFund, was awarded in April 2007 and was expected to be completed within a year but was delayed because of the lack of funds and other alterations made in the original contract.

Mr. Mohammed Gyimbah, a Deputy Director at the Northern Regional Coordinating Council who handed the keys to the headmaster of the school, said the provision of the dormitory should provide a good environment for learning for the students. He said the government's priority was to provide quality education for the girls to enable them perform well academically as their counterparts in the urban areas and urged the girls not to fail the government. Mr. Adul-Rahaman Shani, the District Director of Education, appealed to the headmaster and staff of the school to ensure that the facility was properly maintained. 19 March 09
